About the R thing, isn' t it just that many asian simply aren' t used to doing the sound? I mean, in Sweden there' s this accent called skånska where they use this really weird R sound which I can' t do but that' s not because my tounge is different. It' s just that I' m not used to it.
Asians that where born in countries that uses regular R' s seem to say it like regular people.
It' s like the english " th" sound, like in the word " the" . That' s a sound many swedes can' t make so they make a " D" or " T" sound instead. That is, if they suck and haven' t practiced english enough of course.

I can already easily pull out the fact that the Chinese have distinctive L and R sounds, hence the language system has Lei and Rei, and so on, which means differnet things.

To know that Japanese people have slightly shorter tongues is not racist. In fact, it' s respectful to learn fully the other person' s biology and culture. That' s anthropology FYI.

I could even trace my history back to approximately which of the original aboriginal tribes people on Japan that my family came from, but that was long ago, and mostly guess-work.

Okay, first of all, the in-game scenes from Enchanted Arms look WAY better than those of FFXII (which are only slightly improved from FFX). I' ll be the first to admit that the CG scenes from FF look AMAZING, but Square/Enix has a HUGE budget for cutscenes as this is the core of their games. The cut-scenes from EnArm look pretty amazing too (though not as good).

In Singapore, everyone speaks English. I learned English before I ever learned Chinese, and I speak Chinese worse than most It' s not a prerequisite to complete my Mother Tongue A' Levels for me to get into Uni, so I quit.

The emphasis on speaking good English here is insane! They even had a campaign to wipe out our native slang ' Singlish' , which is really a shame, since it' s fun to speak to it
