The Nintendo DipStick

I love Nintendo as much as the next guy, but the DS sounds like the making of a bad move. Sony says they will release the ultimate portable gaming device with CD media and enough storage space to play movies and music... and Nintendo responds with two screens? I' ll give Nintendo a chance to prove me wrong, but I certainly hope this isn' t another Virtual Boy.

When I heard about the double screen the first thing I thought of was the old game and watch. Some posible ideas from uncle clive. www.uncleclive.com

Wow, your optimistic. When I first heard of the DS I thought N-Gage. I hate to see my gaming history die, but if this fails there will be a plus. If this tanks (my bet), MS or Sony could but the big N. That seems odd but think of Zelda on the Xbox, or Mario Cart on the PS2, it would be awsome.

They might have to hault console production but I doubt this DS would ever put them in a situation where they would have to sell the whole company off to their rivals. The GBA and Pokemon alone will keep them in cash enough to go software only maybe, or even just GBA game?

Apart from DipStick and DogShit, how many other hilarious variants can everyone think of for the Nintendo DS? Oh yeah, DickSuck. Any others?

I donno, a dual screen has alot of possibilities. Think mini maps, stats, sub menus... I think we will be pleasantly surprised.

I think it could work well for rpg' s having a menu on one screen and a battle or wotever on the other, and being able to maybe swap screens to preference. And for a game like mario cart, one screen could be like a rear view mirror and/or real time stats about the race while the other screen has the race (obviously) i guess we' ll just have to see wot happens.

i cant think of any revolutionary features 2 screens can bring us but nintendo are creative, they must be able to come up with some great new games. all i can think of is FF or pokemon with the stats up on the next screen, those WILL be the first 2 launch games!

I may be in the minority but I' m HIGHLY optimistic about the double screen posibilities. I actually felt that 3 screens would have rocked!!

Bah you guys disgust me. First of all I would like to point out that Nintendo currently has the highest sales of all video games worldwide. Sence December 2nd 2003, Nintendo Gamecube did the impossible, It sold more consoles than Sony' s Playstation 2, putting it on top. New confirming this can be found here: http://www.nintendo.com/newsarticle?articleid=c456a931-fea8-4c57-a41a-dcd07c27f81a&page=newsmain 2nd of all, the DS will be revealed at E3, and rumored information considered factual states that one screen will be a PDA like touch screen. The DS will sell, Nintendo will move it' s current top sellers to make great DS games. And you know little kids nowdays with their handhelds, even I have an SP. Now, the idea of 2 screens does sound corny, but remember the old saying " Two heads are better than one." ? 3rd of all, when has nintendo ever let us down?

What the hell are you smoking over there? Maybe it has sold more lately, but is still in the #3 sales position for total console sales. You seriously need your head examined. Anyway, the big N let us down with the GameCube, thats when. They released with 6 games, 2 of which were worth playing. So, as I said, they may have sold more in the recent months than the PS2 has in recent months, but overall the PS2 has still sold more.

Pfff I say pff... rediculous, do you have any credible proof what you say is true? " After rocketing up the charts the past several weeks, the Nintendo GameCube has now reached No. 1 - it' s America' s top-selling home video game console, according to direct sales data from the nation' s leading retailers. Nintendo GameCube sold more than half a million systems to consumers during Thanksgiving week, easily surpassing its console competitors. Among all game devices, it trailed only Nintendo' s portable Game Boy Advance, which sold almost 600,000 units to U.S. buyers during the week." Dec. 2nd Exerpt from Nintendo.com What am I smoking???!!! What are you smoking! You are in denial, Gamecubes on top, and there' s nothing you can do about it! or maybe I misunderstood what this article is saying, I mean it depends on how you look at it. Hrmm... maybe you are right.... or not... hmm...

Yeah... because a company' s website is always the best source for unbiased information on that company' s product and its' competitors' :-).

lol, yeah, I really don' t care about console sales anyway, it doesn' t affect my opinion of my favorite console and it shouldn' t affect any of yours. Anyway, I am truly anticipating the DS, even if it did suck, it would be pretty funny to see Nintendo think of an " innovative" idea and f*** it all up. BWAHAHAHAHA

Yes, as I said, it sold more over a certain period. Im not biased towards (or against) any console, but the combined sales of my beloved box and the Cube that almost could don' t even begin to hit half of the PS2 sales. I really think that if the PS2, XBox, and GC all released at the same time things would be different. But, I think the XBox2 and N5 (Nintendo' s 5th console) will release before the PS3. I don' t think that the " cell" technology Sony keeps bragging about will ba done by late 2005 or early 2006. So don' t expect the big head start they got last time around.

After a brief surge -- due, in no small part, to the price drop -- the GC is back in third place in the US. This is based on NPD data, the most reliable sales source at our disposal. I don' t have the link, but I can look it up if the fanboys are skeptical. And when has Nintendo ever let us down? I love Nintendo, but don' t you think their push for GBA connectivity and neglect of online gaming is a letdown?

yeah you have a point.... (smash bros online anyone?) but I think the connectivity rocks... cept for the fact you need a gba for it, and when it comes to games like ffcc, it gets spendy. now if they went with what dreamcast did... maybe that would have been a better idea.
