Now that it' s been out for a while everywhere, I' m keen to know what everyone thought of The Getaway - as someone close to me was involved in that game, I won' t say who until you let me know though so that you' re honest. Then I' ll give my opinion as well.

After being excited about this game for months and months and buying a PS2 purely for this Game i have to say i was dissappointed .. Dont get me wrong it is a playable game, it just didnt live up to the hype that we had over here in the UK ..

This sits alongside Max Payne for me in that it was good at the moment, took little over a day to complete and i have no further wish to play it ever again ..

As the yardies would say ' Bumbaclot!' ..

I haven' t had a chance to play the real thing, but, the demo seemed ok to me.

Someday, I' ll catch up on my gaming, and try it out.

This game made me cry :(

I' m afraid I disliked it much.

As I was expecting GTA-like gaming, I was somewhat disapointed of the actual game. I just think it suffered from the way that GTA has put the standards extremely high for this genre.

Dispite the quality launch doo, I wasn' t impressed. It just didn' t compare to Vice City and the swearing/script just became boring. I think thats it really, London in the Getaway just looks dull. Give me a playable framerate!

Ok what i thought the getaway wasn' t a bad game to play the
graphic' s were brilliant and it held true to how london is all in all
a good game.

But ha their is alway' s a but lol. There was way too much hype
about the game as other' s have said it didn' t live up to what
some people exspected. I found it was similar to GTA maybe
it was me but the similarity' s were too close.

But apart from that a decent game although all londerner' s
don' t sound like that lol.

I thought this game was alright... i gor it for christmas but completed it in 2 days and traded it in. it got too repetitve all too soon. great graphics and sound, jus couldve bin longa

I was very disappointed. At first I really liked it, but after about 30 mins play I saw just how poorly done the game actually was. The handling of the cars was like that of an early PSone game, not matching Vice City which had better handling. Plus the on-foot sections had an abysmal camera system and the auto-aim could have been much better.

The game was fun for a quick go here and there, but nothing to keep me wanting more. I did however on occation really enjoy the cut scenes, one element of the game which WAS done quite well.

Graphics: Okay, but the PS2 can do much better.

Overall I few more months hard dev time wouldn' t have gone amiss.
