I' m not a big fan of the paint they used, but the design is pure sex!   Via KOTAKU. Title changed, if only because it gives an excuse to post anything nifty and companion-cube related!

This thread confuses me. What does it have to do with a cube? That makes me think " Gamecube" . All it is is an Xbox360 faceplate with marker scribbles on it. How is this exciting?

Because of its popularity in the game, Valve has released plush toys of the Weighted Companion cube in the Steam Store. Weighted Companion Cube fuzzy dice are also available through the Steam store.[32] Both GLaDOS and the Weighted Companion Cube were nominated for the " Best New Character Award" on G4; with GLaDOS winning the award for having " lines that will be quoted by gamers for years to come." [33] GLaDOS was also awarded " Best New Character" in GameSpot' s Best and Worst of 2007 awards. [34]

I think Eddy is talking about the design in general. The fact that he likes the design, doesn' t mean that he likes the way the faceplate looks in itself. Personally, I like the ideas of using the scribbles as a mean to make a design, but I don' t like the way it turned out here.

It' s supposed to look like some of the walls in Portal.
As an overall theme I really like it, but it' s a little too active for my tastes. There' s too much going on all over the plate. What they needed to do (in my humble opinion) is have a very active, or very dark portion of the faceplate somewhere in the lower section, and then have lighter simpler colors on top, if anything at all.
