Team Fortress sit-down test and interview - Apr 11, 2007 13:12
IGN just did an interview with some of the members of the dev team and got a chance to play some of the maps.

I really can' t wait for this game, and forgot to add it to my list in the " most anticipated titles" thread. I played this and counterstrike non stop when it came out and loved every minute. Still one of the best online FPS experiences to date IMO, and no game has offered its unique brand of gameplay yet. Seeing the new screenshots makes me love the new art direction that much more as well. I don' t think realism would have suited it nearly as nicely, after all, the original TFC models were quite goofy looking even though it wasn' t quite intended.

edit:

Just watched the most recent trailer and I' m so pleased. They kept all the bits that made the game great, and improved a lot as well. I really love how they soldiers just rocket jump the whole time, proving that even though a not completely intentional aspect of TFC remains in the sequel, simply because of how awesome it was. Also, when the last soldier lands on the ground and drops dead, its so classic. You can really tell these guys played TFC a lot back in the day, and wanted to keep the whole feel going, and made sure it had huge nostalgic value for the fans.

The Xbox 360 version' s network code is apparently so far along that PC and Xbox 360s were actually playing together online during a LAN session.

Yah, It' s nice that the 360 and PC will be able to communicate over live. I' m thinking that generally I will play online only against PC' s, but if I ever want to completely wreck people, or I' m drunk, then I will use my PC against 360' s. Sniper vs people on controllers = gg.

You could get the " black box" as opposed to the " Orange Box" available on PC only.

Orange Box, Half Life 2 with Episode 1 & 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2---59.99

Black Box, Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2---39.99

Or you can just buy and download them separately directly off Steam.

I aint playing 40 quid for three small games. Portal is only 4 hours long!

I would be better off buying the orange box and then getting a change to complain about how much I hate Half Life.

I never download my games. legaly.

In fact, I seen Grim Fandango in the shop going for like a Fiver, so if you excuse me, I want to play it. I love those games.

I would probably play $40 for TF2 to be honest. However, since my original Half-life 2 copy was cracked, the orange box is a great deal for me since I don' t have a legit form of HL2 and Episode 1. Gotta make another steam account though .
