If you' re playing Super Paper Mario in Europe then there' s a good chance you' ll come across a bug in the game when in level 2-2. If you speak to Mimi without the key to the locked door in this level, at one point the game will freeze and you' ll have to reboot your Wii and reload from your last save. This happened to me this afternoon.

Make sure you collect the key from the room with the spiked ceiling, don' t speak to Mimi and you can progress to the next level. Nintendo will be issuing free replacement copies of the game at some point soon.
