Canadian actor and videogame voice specialist Michael Rudder was among the casualties in the terrorist attacks in Mumbai yesterday. The actor was dining at the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai when militants opened fire. Rudder was hit by three bullets and rushed to hospital where he successfully underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
You may recognise Rudder's voice from such games as Far Cry Instincts, Prince Of Persia: The Warrior Within (he played the Dark Prince), Jagged Alliance and - somewhat ironically - terrorist-slaying black ops game Splinter Cell.
[UPDATE: to clarify, Michael Rudder did NOT play Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell - that was Michael Ironside, who to our knowledge has never been shot by terrorists of any kind. Rudder provided other voice work for the game.]
Damned shoddy journalism. Gonna give me heart palpitations...

Your thread title nearly pissed me off. I dont care what Hajji does in other countries, but you fuck with my Splinter Cell by killing Ironside and the only possible outcome is a nuclear jihad on every nation supporting terrorism.

What voice did he play in Jagged Alliance? I used to love that game. Especially the funny retorts each character would make when you clicked on them or told them to do something.  Glad he's going to be ok. Talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time....unless he was the target. :s

Seriously, i think we can safely blame Arnie and Stallone for 90% of terrorists inability to shoot guns properly. They all seem to think they're fucking Rambo...

I think it's OK if people get shot up or even die, just as long as it's not Michael Ironside. I mean did you even see Total Recall? His acting was so superb, covering such a wide range of delicate emotions. Michael Ironside is better than other people. May he live forever. Praise Him.
