Splinter Cell Double Agent to Wii

Rampage is happy. Now this is some big news if you ask me. And if those are wii screens, I no longer have any fears about wii games not looking nice enough.

Looks nice, being based on the GCN/PS2 build and all. I wonder if it would' ve looked better if it was built for the Wii from start?

Nintendo is doing one thing wrong and it' s doing it again actually - NO 3RD party Online support for now , which means those guys aren' t on equal terms with N' s 1st party devs - that' s lame.

Gotta spread the Splinter Cell lovin' ! Looks pretty much on par with the graphics shown for the orriginal Xbox. It' s definately the Chaos theory Engine. Looks good for a Wii game!

Awesome! Well is looks way better than Chaos Theory on Xbox and that was one of the nicest looking games of the previous generation. The texture quality specifically is better than in any other Wii game we' ve seen so far. It' s Ubisoft Montreal that' s doing the Wii version too which is a surprise. That' s definately good news! The PS2 and Gamecube versions of Chaos Theory were a joke, the Xbox version was even nicer than the PC version. I think that the Xbox version was probably one of the crossover to next gen games alond with Black and RE4. This looks better than Chaos Theory on Xbox and DOES look next-gen. At least people can stop worrying about whether the machine is capable enough.

The Wii version of Splinter Cell Double Agent is based on both the PlayStation 2 and GameCube builds, with enhancements made to gameplay and graphics. Both builds? Wouldn' t the GCN build be enough?

Well don' t take it personal - I' m saying it' s pretty bad since PS2 and GCN versions were always downgraded comparing to the one for Xbox. If it looks worse than CT on xbox , than Ubisoft didn' t try hard enough. I' ll hold my judgement untill I see some movies.

I just hope they can use it in a nice and fun way - some ways of using Wiimote have been just silly lately (FPP,Mario Strikers plays worse than on GCN pad , and all racing games are based on tilting the remote - it will work great for Excitetruck though)

Obviously you aren' t playing your Xbox games in 480p. that is true , but still why would xbpx be better ?, and even that 480p it can' t match higher resolutions , antialiasing*4, and anisotropic*8... that least feature make distant textures clear wich is not teh case on xbox, i had both versions magik, and i don' t think 480p will change that!! it can' t make distant textures clearer, the xbox make them blurry + for those interested on pc you got higher FPS (with a good graphic card)

I think it looks way better than Chaos Theory in texture alone. The lighting is also way more dramatic.

It' s hard to disagree - this game was so sharp that it was unbelievable. If Wii version doesn' t look as good , then fuck Ubi.

If it doesn' t look as good it' s because the Wii is a GC with an overclocked graphics card... The Wii version does look quite good but still really doesn' t surpass what was capable this gen in terms of graphics. Actually if I could point out the screens for the Wii version look basically the same as the original Xbox version of the game but filled with (you guessed it) bloom lighting. That' s basically all the Wii has done to surpass the GC in terms of gprahics... bloom lighting on everything. I still want to see what they can do gameplay wise. If they get the controller to make the game better than it already is that would be reason enough to buy a Wii for me. If not I' m still putting a hold on purchasing the console.
