SpaceShipOne wins $10M
-
Oct 04, 2004 17:36
A stubby rocket plane powered its rockets and appeared to blast through the Earth' s atmosphere for a second time in two weeks Monday to capture a $10 million prize meant to encourage space tourism. SpaceShipOne, the rocket plane funded by Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen, appeared to top its required altitude within minutes of firing its rockets, said Peter Diamandis, who founded the X Prize eight years ago. --AP

Isn' t that the one associated with Virgin, or is that a different space ship?

Thats different I think. Virgin is the one offering 2000 dollar space flights in the near future. Then again they may be linked in the matter that both are in it for space tourism. And a welcome back Jabroni.

Well, now that it' s been proven, and the money won, who thinks they would like to go on a flight? Eventually, they expect to have a space hotel set up in space, so you would actually have somewhere to go.

im no entirely sure, but in the future i want to frozen and placed in a capsule and shot into space. My body would then float in space for light years to come, before crash landing on a planet full of horny, Jenny Garth clones who worship skinny blokes with bad haircuts. Or i can to go vegas.

i think it would be impossable for regulsr ppl to go on that trip. one reason: G FORCE!!! i hear that that ship when mach 3 to reach up there..........mach 3!! that is like over 1000 miles per hour!! everybody would pass out or be hurling up a storm. and the price is too much.
