First of all, I' m not good at racing games and I' ve never liked the Sega Rally series. The demo: You can choose between two cars, a Subaru and a Mitsubishi (quess which ones). You can choose between two tracks, canyon (desert) and tropical. You can choose to be best prepared for off track racing or on track racing. Then you race. The good stuff: -Smooth framerate -Great track deformation -Great graphics, both design and technology -Still feels like Sega rally -Using the wireless wheel is actually fun -Racing is very enjoyable -Decent loading times (great compared to PGR3) The bad stuff: -It' s an off-track rally game so I suck big time at it. I always finish last -You can' t use the second analog stick to rotate the camera as in PGR3 or Forza 2 Final words: I actually like the demo, it was very enjoyable despite my past dislike of the series. The track deformation both looks and feels great as the cars handle differently on different surfaces and stuff. It really gave the game a next-gen feeling. The fact that it was playable with a wheel, unlike Dirt, was great. There' s a distinct Sega feeling in it from the music and the graphics to the menus and the gameplay. I mean that as a good thing. We' re talking old times Sega feeling. I still think the game is difficult as with all off track rally games, but it didn' t stop me from having fun. This game will rape DiRT a thousand times over. But as I said, I' m not a fan nor an expert on the series or the genre.

and I' ve never liked the Sega Rally series Wow, ive never heard / read that in my life, especially from a Sega Saturn owner.. Back then, Sega Rally was one of very few AAA games, never mind racers. I here the Demo' s Alright and plays nice (not 60fps but playable).. but also heard the music is shit. Anyone who' s played SEGA Rally would know of it' s distinct Sega J-rock / Fusion. Seriously SEGA, atleast get the Original Music Proucer to round off the feel (like your doing with nights) Or Hire Video Game DJ, I certainly could produce a nice SEGA Rally Soundtrack that has that SEGA feel. tsk.

Wow, ive never heard / read that in my life, especially from a Sega Saturn owner.. Back then, Sega Rally was one of very few AAA games, never mind racers. I' m a fan, not a fanboy. That means I don' t have to like EVERYTHING that has the SEGA brand on it. It' s not like I think the series is bad or anything, it' s just not my kind of game.

Whats with the ' fanboy' ?. Ive just ' never' come across a gamer not liking SEGA Rally before, be it Nintendo, SEGA or Sony fans. I found it odd to read, thats all.

Sorry, not being offensive against you or anything. It' s just that many people automatically asume you' re not a real fan if you dislike one of the core franchises, like Virtua Fighter, Sega Rally or Shenmue.

Nor was i, i respect what ever people like, i was just honestly suprized to see someone not like SEGA rally.. Maybe is was an arcade thing though.. We used to play this in the arcades, so when it finally came to SS we was like.. " OMG we have an arade game in our home! " Gave it that holy status..

I dont mind 30fps as long as its stable and fits the tempo of the game, fast paced games should be 60 though. But im not an FPS whore, im just graphics whore, just ask Gin

Here are my opinions which are a tad mixed: Pros: -Great graphics -Retained a lot of the Sega Rally feel with what seems a similar navigator to Sega Rally 2 or 2005, can' t remember -Framerate does not bother me (you have to realize that the Xbox360 is too weak to run a game like this at 60fps) -Allows me to use the d-pad and does not force me to use the analog pad to steer. -Great surround sound effects like gravel and dirt flying all over the place. -Fun! Cons: -Seems a bit floaty. -Surround sound effects disappear unless you are in the first person or hood cam view. In fact most sound effects become really quiet when in the 3rd person views. -Music isn' t very exciting, but at least it' s not EA Trax or other licensed music. The " Game Over Yeah" sounds weird, like it was faked. -Seems pretty tough. I was able to come in 3rd only once. -Noticed some " fade-in" on some small roadside objects. Overall it' s good and I' ll probably buy it. Much better than DiRT.

I hate that it suffers from the Gran Turismo sickness... no car damage what so ever. The track deformation is nice. There' s even a bit of enviromental damage. The cars get nice and dirty but damn it would be nice if a crash was a crash. Even head on collision and bumping was boring. But thats about all I hate about it. However, im currently sick of racing games for now til MX vs ATV sooo yeah I wont be getting it.
