Something different for a change. Fuck the consoles for a minute and stare in awe at the baddest mouse you can buy... January 17, 2007 - Los Angeles - Razerâ„¢, a leading manufacturer of high-end precision gaming peripherals, announced that the DeathAdderâ„¢ 3G Infrared Sensor Gaming Mouse, a state-of-the-art 3G infrared right-handed gaming mouse, is now available at all major online retailers (Amazon, Tiger Direct, GoGamer and NewEgg), for a retail price of ($59.99). " With all gamers in mind, the Razer team of specialized engineers designed the Razer DeathAdder from the ground up to make this the perfect right-handed gaming weapon," says Robert Krakoff, president, Razer USA. " The Razer DeathAdder is truly in a league of its own." The Razer DeathAdderâ„¢ 3G Infrared Sensor Gaming Mouse contains the following distinguishing features: * The right-handed ergonomic design of the Razer DeathAdder Gaming Mouse with its rubber coated buttons provides slip-resistant grip and improved comfort during intensive gameplay. * Powered by Razer Precisionâ„¢, the new 3G infrared sensor on the Razer DeathAdder lets you move 2.25 times faster when compared to a standard 800 dpi optical sensor. Before the enemy sees you, he' s already dead. * The Razer DeathAdder allows gamers to program their button functions while Razer' s Hyperesponseâ„¢ technology reduces latency. * No action is too fast for the Razer DeathAdder. Its 16-bit ultra-wide data channel allows latency-free gaming on all battlegrounds. * Watch the Razer DeathAdder glide and slide as you experience the true meaning of smooth gaming. * With On-The-Fly Sensitivityâ„¢ drivers, you can use the Razer DeathAdder to switch dpi settings right in the midst of a fierce battle! * The fast response time of the Razer DeathAdder means you never have to wait for the mouse - no matter how quick you are. * Always-Onâ„¢ capabilities give gamers virtually no latency when the Razer DeathAdder goes back into action from idling. Logitech G7 is what I have. Laser tracks better than optical. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2464,CONTENTID=10716 2000 dpi laser engine An ultra-high resolution engine churns images at an astounding 6.4 megapixels per second. A massive (30-pixel by 30-pixel) sensor array and precision laser technology allow the G7 to deliver best-in-class performance and tracking. In-game sensitivity switching The G7 provides instant access to three sensitivity levels— 400 dpi, 800 dpi, and 2000 dpi—before driver installation. Shift from pixel-precise targeting to fast-twitch maneuvers, without pausing the action. Full-speed USB + 2.4 GHz cordless 4X faster than conventional mice, USB delivers blazing speed and instant acceleration. With a 5X** stronger connection, 2.4 GHz wireless " bulletproofs" the G7 against lags and interference dropouts. Two fast-swap ultra-light Li-ion packs Recharging doesn´t have to mean pausing the action. In the default gaming power mode, the battery life will last up to two and a half days for average game play. Battery-level indicator The five-level gauge tells you exactly how much game time remains. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) gaming feet Forget sticky workarounds—the G7' s durable polytetrafluoroethylene feet give the ultra-smooth glide you want in a gaming mouse. Razers are good but Logitech is the best.

Nice, that Razer does look evil. I bought a Razer Copperhead once, but I couldn' t get used to the damn thing for the life of me! One issue was the ' fingertips' technique that was necessary to hold it, whereas I prefer a palm grip. The other was that it would sense movement even at half a cm above your desk. For twitch games I' d be constantly moving my aim off target when lifting the mouse off the desk to reposition it. Just didn' t work for me. Maybe the DeathAdder is better for this, but atm I love the mouse I traded my Copperhead for; my Logitech G7! (No flashy glowy bits though!)

I' m using the Microsoft Laser mouse 6000, nothing special it was the first mouse I bought when I got my computer last August. It' s a bigger mouse but my fingers are long enough that I never rest my palms. If I had money to burn maybe I' d get the Habu as I prefer the shape over the G5.

Will that mouse somehow help me download porn more efficiently? If not, then why should I care about it?

It won' t help you " download" porn, but with all that increased finger strength... ... ... You can play games better!

I hope this fits my hand nicely, all the other Razer' s have felt a bit odd and uncomfortable in my hands(not that some of Logitechs and MSofts don' t, but they have more models). I have always wanted a Razer, but the aforementioned statement and price have always deterred me.
