Harmonix even responded with some lame excuse about taxes not being included in the US price...but the thing is...even if you count in those taxes, Europe still pays twice the price for the game.

http://www.videogamer.com/news/08-04-2008-7981.aspx We' re not trying to screw people. We want to give people the chance to get into Rockband and embrace it. We think that when they do play it then they' ll be like then this is worth the money. We understand that people are going to feel a little bit aggrieved about it but we hope that the game will override that feeling." That kind of talk didn' t work for Sony and the PS3. It definatly won' t work for an over priced game.

I think that it' s about time that gamers fought back and boycotted the game until it becomes reasonably priced in the UK and Europe, we need to started taking control and by that I mean we need to start excercising our rights as consumers to say ' No we are not paying your over inflated prices.' This should also be the case for ' over-hyped' games as well. We are seen as a pushover consumer meaning that if enough hype is created around something we will buy it regardless of cost, we need to change this, otherwise companies are going to keep on dictating to us.
