I would, but I' m pretty sure Adam locked it. Seriously guys, stay on topic, talking bout formats & stuff. I haven' t really made my ideas clear on this one, so here' s the way I see it.

Blu-Ray will not tank like Betamax, Mini-CD, UMD, & Their recent blue-laser archival format. (which most people don' t know about) For a few reasons. One:

Do your homework people! Blu-Ray isn' t sony proprietary, it' s being, and has been developed my multiple companies, whereas UMD & the like were all in-house endeavors.

The second reason why I belive Blu-Ray will suceed is the fact that there' s one in a PS3. People will buy PS3s eventually, more than those who will buy HD movie players for sure. That' s going to be a huge contributing factor if Sony can get off their arse sometime this year.

The blu ray / HD DVD war will be won and lost by the film studios, much like the VHS / Beta wars in the late 70' s early 80' s (Man were those betamax recorders big buggers.) The film studios all went for the cheaper and to some extent the poorer quality medium.
It is obvious that M$ are fully 100% behind HD which could mean a worrying push towards one medium in the PC world. Hypothetically M$ could force all PC manufacturers to install an HD DVD drive into all machines as Windows Vista or Windows future will only work on this media. Restrictive practices I hear you say but wait M$ have been fighting law suits for almost 10 years now with the whole interweb exploder being the only compatible web browser then the media player issue.
Consoles I think will not be so much of a worry as either medium is not being used in actual gaming terms, AT THE MOMENT.

Going back to the business of the PSP being revamped, I look at mine on my desk and think maybe I should have waited for a DS lite, then I remember I like nice graphics so, maybe I should have both, I cannot see Sony producing another handheld for sometime until the PS3 debacle has died down, I think it might be commercial suicide to do so. However the spec that was mention by Mr Q at the begining isn' t that much from the truth and has been mooted for sometime as an improvement, although a lot of people will scream about backward compatibility of UMD games, that we will have to think on.
