Offical Forza 2 images - Sep 05, 2006 07:56
They won' t be released " officially" until tomorrow but here they are...

...and that means that the screens i posted the other day...

...were real, as they are showing different angles of the exact same scenes.

Personally i think they look stunning. Especially...

... ^^^ that one.

The only think i don' t like is the flat grass textures. Hopefully they' ll work on that.

Magic i think your special pic look a lot like a ps2 game , specialy at first glance (gran turismo 4) but then at a second glance (the landscape) you' ll think it' s an xbox.

Really, because it even looks nicer than GTHD running in 1080p...

and i was talking specialy about your picture ... just shoked because you thought it was the most stunning although for me it was the worse ... i guess one of us should be crazy

altough we should see any game in motion before we finaly judge, but still man those pics are very disapointing , i' m sure that the REAL gran turismo will leave that to DUST, flat textures ?? come on!! heck even PGR3 (from the pictures again) looked a lot more detailed , that' s a first gen game right... well may be this one run with 60fps... but still if i dare compare them with gran turismo 4, taht' s certainly not a good news for forza...

60fps, 4x AA and HDR, advanced physics and full car damage modelling.

I think this looks great. PGR3' s evnironments look nicer and i can' t actually see anything surpassing them for quite a while yet, but PGR3' s cars have visible aliasing and the game runs at 30fps (which matters/doesn' t matter depending on who you ask).

Perhaps it would be better to compare it to the nicest looking racing sim on 360 already...

Aren' t you the guy still looking forward to Bulletwitch?!

I think Forza 2 is looking great. I' m not keen on the fullscreen background blur in this image...

...and i know PGR3 uses it too but here itm just doesn' t seem to fit.

The cars are made up of more poly' s, the game uses HDR (although it' s not really noticable in the screenshots already released), 4x AA (which will give much smoother edges on the cars compared to PGR3' s) and runs at 60fps.

I think that when we see some more screenshots, of nicer cars than the G5, cars with decals on them, on a track where the HDR really makes it' s presence known, ...people will decide that it look really good.

The screenshot are supposed to be officially released sometime today so we' ll se if there are any that aren' t posted here.

EDIT: Oh, and also note that MotoGP 06' s tearing and framerate issues have been fixed. It' s now as AWESOME as i had expected it to be at launch.

Yes.. I didn' t think much of it until I saw it in motion though.

I' m looking forward to Forza 2, I didn' t really touch the first one, but the
announcement of the 2nd one and what features they' ll include coupled with the
steering wheel, made the whole thing so appealing...

I was only kidding mate.

The original Forza wasn' t groundbreaking, it was just a nice racing game. But this (Forza 2) doesn' t look as bad as some are making out. I do really want to see it moving though, or maybe some different screenshots.

I also want to see the in-car view and hear how it handles with Microsoft' s force feedback wheel.

I looks like Forza 1 720p - that' s really strange.

Maybe it' ll be fun to play at least.

Those lame fuckers need to sacrifice lot' s of detail to reach 60 fps I presume.

I know, I know..

I still think that this is going to drastically improve though... I' ve prepared
myself to be completely blown away by this game, just from what they were
talking about, I' ve also been hearing that these are early build screenshots
that were leaked and the first " official" screenshots are due this Thursday..

Yeah, i have the game. I have 23 360 games and there isn' t many i haven' t played.

I bought MotoGP 06 on it' s release day but had already told Adam that' s what i wanted him to send me, so i ended up with 2 copies and gave the original to a friend. Then i didn' t play it for ages because of the annoying framerate drops. Now they' ve been fixed it gets played a LOT more. It' s as nice and as cool as PGR3!

Remember that some of us HAVE Forza 1 and play it in 720p already. This looks better than 720p Forza. Easily.

Part of the problem is that you can' t see the light reflecting off the road in these screenshots of Forza 2. If you look at almost any PGR3 or MotoGP 06 shot the roads look amazing. BUT, when the light is obstructed by a building or a cloud then the raods look dull like in these Forza 2 shots. Since the game will use HDR i expect roads of at least PGR3 quality, even if the environments aren' t quite as nice.

I know - I exceggerated a bit :)

But it looks shitty if you ask me.

It looks like many PC racing games - it has cool effects , good textures , but lacks the WOW factor.I' m pretty sure GT5 (maybe even HD if they upgrade visuals enough) will be the prettiest racing game. Those guys are artists and they can squeze a lot from PS Systems.

I still think everyone should wait until Thursday when it is said they will be
releasing the official images...

Whilst these look good, they don' t quite reach the hopes I had when they announced it..

I still say wait...
