Story:This is the sequel to the December, 2001 crime caper hit, Ocean' s Eleven( which was itself a remake of the 1960 " Rat Pack" movie, starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop, Angie Dickinson, Cesar Romero and Norman Fell, which was famously filmed in Las Vegas while each of the Rat Pack members were also performing at the Sands Hotel). The 2001 movie opened to $50 million, and ended up grossing $183 million in the U.S. alone.
Danny Ocean, reignited flame Tess and the rest of a band of thieves and con men (some returning and some new), team up for another three huge heists, but this time they' re in three different locations (Rome, Paris and Amsterdam) (perhaps handled by three groups of four thieves each?). In Amsterdam, the prize is Rembrandt' s " De Nachtwacht" painting, which resides at the Rijksmuseum. Meanwhile, casino owner Terry Benedict, whom Ocean and crew ripped off in Las Vegas, is hot on their tail, looking for revenge...

My Opinion

I thought the 2001 remake was awsome. However, I don' t see the sequal coming to similar success. Hopefully its just as stylish and clever as the first.

gotta agree with you there. The first one was good, very entertaining. But making the second one is just another paycheck....it seems very forced.

I am also inclined to agree with that. The first movie was great, fun and light. I fear a sequel will not do as well. Though I still will check it out. As long as they aren' t pushing too hard, it could be an ok movie.

I also thought the first was great and also feel the sequal won' t do it justice, but am still looking forward to it anyway! When is it due out?

I hope its released everywhere in December, not just US as I' m sick and tired of always being last to see films.

I think that might be International release date, cuz I see it often referred as the " wide" release date. Usually if it' s US release 1st then they often note it as " Nation Wide" . However, I' ma do a lil bit more looking around to get a 100% answer.

Ok so ya it' s an international release for December 10th.
If I' m wrong chances are I' ll find out soon enough. But Dec. 10th is the marked release date.

The first one was one of my favorite heist movies of all time...up there with The Sting. The all-star lineup is what gets me...not to mention the amazing smooth soundtrack under it. I' m hoping to see a remake.
