Politics is all crap, reminds me of lost, they talk a million miles per hour but get NOWHERE.

Yeah, I' m a US citizen.
Don' t get me wrong, I don' t think there' s going to be some dramatic breakthrough in the way the country is run just yet. It' s just encouraging to see people elect someone who' s not an white christian male into office.
I know elected officials are becoming more diverse with every election, but
for a country that claims equality and diversity as it' s greatest moral principles, our government is still horribly skewed.

Democracy is a fine system, but it has one huge flaw. Tyranny of majority. It really doesn' t matter if your ideas are right or wrong, as long as they' re popular.
The whole gay marriage thing going on right now is a perfect example.

I agree majority isn' t always right, I just don' t like when people rip on democracies and claim they aren' t against any of the people, just the government. You can' t be.

has been for over 50 years,and Dems fav pres Clinton was also hated world wide.
Just because the dems hate the republicane president right now,doesnt mean rest of the world finally understand and agree with you,wait until you get your dem president and see what happends.

Also while its nice to finally have a speaker of the house being a women and a muslim in congress,for me i could care less.

I want the best of the best.

Not to make some groups or organisations happy.

Ofc i do understand that some groups wants to be representated by someone like them.
But then there is something wrong with your party who cant give you that with a person without same color/sex as you.

For ex some of the fav in the riksdagen byt me is a former latino american and a black women,doesnt mean i like them for what they are and i want foreigner at the riksdag,it just means i agree with what they say and like them.
If they got their posistion of what they are and not stand for i wouldn' t like them.

Sure, the government represents the people in a democracy so I guess that disliking the U.S. government is like disliking the people, but only to a certain degree.
I mean, it' s a two party system, it' s like choosing between pest and collera.
And regardless of the governments affairs the accomplishments of the people can' t be forgotten.

The Nobel price isn' t that important so the fact that many winners are american is nothing to care about.
