I' ve watched Conan' s show..it' s pretty good... O' Brien to succeed Leno at ' Tonight Show' in 2009 Monday, September 27, 2004 Posted: 2:08 PM EDT (1808 GMT) LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- NBC' s " Tonight Show" host Jay Leno will retire at the end of his current five-year contract in 2009 and be replaced by " Late Night" host Conan O' Brien, the network said Monday. O' Brien signed a new contract Monday that guarantees he will assume the job as host of America' s top-rated late night talk show, " The Tonight Show," sometime during the 2009 season. Leno took over the show from Johnny Carson in May 1992. By the time he steps down, he will have hosted the program for more than 17 years.

It would be great to see Conan on a bit earlier, but Jay is a workaholic. I can' t see him retiring so soon. I could be wrong but it seems odd to me right now.

it doesn' t matter to me now, i have school and in no condition to stay up late to watch Jay Leno, so whoever replaces him now or later doesn' t matter much..hhaha...I' ve only been catching on to the Late Show and Tonight Show for a few months over the break...back then...i had no idea there were such shows, because i slept early!

Screw 2009, get conan in there now. I agree -- Conan has much more personality than Leno.

Instead of watching Leno, I watch Letterman... Then, when Conan is on, I turn the Tv over to watch him... Leno is OK, but just seems so boring and out of touch...

But his " Headlines" segment is really cool. About the only other thing that Jay has going is that he' s in HD, and none of the others are.
