I don' t have any respect for a country or its people where Davis Hasselhoff is one of the biggest artists (singer). I' m not surprised in the slightest that Germany is banning videogames. Fucking Fascists...

As with most things, people who want to play dead rising, can just order the game over the web in any of the neigbouring countries, Germany is used to censorship like this, in command and conquer you kill robots instead of men!

This is really crazy, are the GTA 3 onwards games banned in Germany? I' m heading out to Germany in a couple of weeks to the Wacken festival. Cannibal Corpse were supposed to be playing it, but their first 3 albums are banned there so they were only allowed to play songs from their newer albums. They pulled out, but supposing they played: 1) Are the police going to listen to Cannibal Corpse to spot any songs off their first 3 albums? 2) If those albums are banned, how do the police know what songs are on them? 3) Seeing as most Cannibal Corpse sounds the same and all has the same lyrical content, why ban the first 3 and not the rest? Anyway, back to the gaming - surely it' s okay in Dead Rising, as it' s zombies you kill? Have they banned the " XXXX of the Dead" films by Romero? Seems like the government there really don' t want people to decide for themselves what' s okay and what' s not.

It happens. But I just don' t understand why they go to the extent of banning sales of it. I can respect what they did for other games, (medal of honor & the like) put them on a special list, cut the ad' s, and made sales restricted to adults, (WWII' is an extremely sensitive subject there). But to ban it altogether, just for violence? It seems a little convoluted. Edit: While I was looking for confirmation that MOH was on Germany' s Index of Youth Indangering Media, I did find out it could be worse. Saudi Arabia' s banned Pokemon Blue!

Germany' s censorship does seem awfully harsh, why can' t they just slap the highest rating on to the box like most other countries do? I really feel bad for any such people who were looking forward to this great looking game

banning Pokemon Blue actually makes a lot more sense than banning MoH Normally I' d say yes, if only because the whole pokemon thing got way out of hand. I mean, you could buy weed with a Japaneese Holographic Charizard. I know, I had a friend who was obsessed, and then lost it all when the cards tanked. But they banned it because they said it had Jewish propoganda laced in it. As if they could see The Star of David as harmful to their youth, but they couldn' t see the downside of caging weird creatures, and letting your 11 yr old son go around the country and talk to strangers who wanted to battle with your red & white balls.

There' s nothing wrong with being obsessed with the game. It was, and still is, what started one of the most popular franchises in videogame history! I remember that I use to be able to name every single one of the little blighters, but now I can' t even remember actual.... words. I am just glad I got my copy of Pokemon Blue when it was released!
