New Sonic for Revolution not a port from 360 and PS3 - Jan 20, 2006 23:48
Yuji Naka really liked the revolution controller when they showed it to him.Now it seems he' s making an original Sonic game with it in mind.

Here' s the official link :

I wonder how it will control with Rev.

Any ideas?

You might just have to wave the controller up and down to build up speed.

Perhaps there could be an option that allows players to ' sketch' their own levels from scratch using loops and curves. Whatever the outcome, I hope it will be an interesting one.

I don' t think it will be anything like sketching levels ala DS type stuff. I don' t know what it WILL be, I just don' t think that.

I know, but remember that this is all just hopeful speculation at the moment. In fact, the Revolution is, in a way, still just a speck of light.

Not quite. If you bear in mind that Revolution (N5) is expected to launch in the US around November time this year, when do you think it' ll be released in Japan?! It' ll be out in Japan before anywhere else (meaning i' ll have it as soon as it' s available since Japan is region 2 like the UK and i' ll just use my power converter). I' m betting around July for Japan, although the summer months are risky...

The interesting thing for me is that in May 2005, around the time that they announced that Revolution wouldn' t support hi-def tv' s, Nintendo purchased and unknown number of these: -

They' re eMagin visors, but they use headtracking and voice technology too which pushes their retail price up to about $900. If they had those removed and were just used as a display then as long as they were mass produced they wouldn' t cost anywhere near as much as that...

I' ve been thinking about getting one, they launch Q1 2006 and they' ve had really good reviews and won the CES ' Best Innovation' and ' Design Engineering Showcase' awards.

They display 105-inch screen viewed at 12 feet. Sounds good to me!

Yeah so did Sony , Microsoft and a lot of other companies.
It' s obvious that N wants us to play in VR but it' s not yet possible on the right level of quality.
What they did by buying those is called research.

You will need four Revolution controllers to play this game. Strap ne to each arm and each leg and run in place really, really fast!

I think it would much more appropriate if Sonic Team created the next ' Nights in the dreams' . the controller was made for it

I think the best way to use the REv controller is to make a realistic minigame called " Wipe Your Ass" - it pretty much self explanatory and could prove how much we DON' T need realism in VideoGames :)
