I dunno why but I always hesitate before updating my psp almost like it' s a bad thing...

I' m actually the complete opposite, I always RUN to update my PSP firmware. My Japanese unit remains UN-updated, but my US unit gets updated as soon as possible!

Is the japanese unit that different from the european or american ones. Because i had a european one and thought i' d get a ceramic japanese version instead but I wasn' t as excited when I got it...just felt different...weird.

Like Terry i have 2 PSP' s. I got the Japanese version at launch and then got a UK model upon it' s release here.

Like Terry my Japanese PSP has never been updated and is used specifically for homebrew aand playing emulated games.

They go everywhere with me, right alongside my DS.

I was gonna do that....by the way haven' t they cracked a way to do games for ver 2.6? or was it just one game...

yeah thats partly why i' m staying away from them for now that and the fact that the psp really ain' t interesting me these days so if something good does come along and mines is messed up i' d be .....actually not that bothered but it' s good to keep it in good working order still.

i no wot u mean theres like no games for the psp that intrest me at the moment. a mean look at the xbox 360 it came out last year and thers loads of amazing games for it were as the psp has been out now for nine months at least and the game line-up is crap.

Yeah you have to respect the 360 with their dedication to the ' titles' front the only thing I can see wrong is that they need more strong titles thats why i' m hoping they grab a virtua fighter 5 console version and something mind blowing at e3. But can' t say i' m too disappointed at all ...the psp don' t have much of a selection for me and when there are games I like there' s a next gen port> nfs most wanted,>fight night round 2...but I don' t mind I watch videos on it so can' t complain too much...which might be the main thing ps3 owners might be doing by the looks of things.

Ridge Racer, Wipeout Pure, Virtua Tennis: World Tour, Daxter, Street Fighter Alpha 3, SSX: On Tour, Outrun 2006 (bought it today and it' s lurvely!!!), GTA:LCS (if that' s your thing), SOCOM Fireteam Bravo (got it today and it too is lurvely), Lumines, Fight Night Round 3, etc...

And even though they are out, it has no good games?!

ye ok so there are some really good quality games out there for the psp but its the lack of games like theres not a lot coming out. so ok e3 is next month and am sure there will be plenty of games demoing there, but from were I stand the psp has dissapointed me with its games with exceptions (gta, socom, outrun 2006, virtua tennis & daxter) the rest are all crap what we should all be waiting for is the year 2007 when (hopefully) the true power of the psp has been unlocked then we will see the true capabilitys of an amazing machine

Tekken: DR is out on the 5th May in the UK. THAT is gonna be kickass!

What i don' t understand though is why games have been coming out here before the US. We have had Pursuit Force, Outrun 2006, Tocobot, Splinter Cell: Essentials and From Russia With Love all before the US versions were released. We had Pursuit Force here nearly 5 weeks before it was released in the states, ...and now we are getting Tekken: DR before them too?!

I think its to make up for the huge delay we had to wait for the portable. That reminds me, i have to get a psp. And some Money.

I think Europe gets SOME games first based on the popularity of the titles in that region... Other times it might be because the developers are based in Europe.

Europe getting stuff like Outrun first doesn' t surprise me at all especially given the popularity of Sega' s consoles in Europe in the past, and I imagine the game was big there.. Pursuit Force I believe (I could be wrong) was developed in Europe, thus the much earlier release there... Are you sure Pursuit Force was released 5 weeks before the U.S. release? I always thought it was months!! It felt like months!!

The Metal Gear Solid series usually see quick releases in Europe. Europe and the U.S. tend to get some of those games before Japan since the series is least popular in Japan.
