My Wii arrives early...
-
Feb 14, 2008 18:34
After waiting for 4 months to find one that wasn' t being sold as a stupidly priced * Barbie Fuc.king Ponie Rider bundle... i finally happened accross one being sold on it' s own for it' s actually recommended retail price and ordered it. Obviously i' ve had to order and SD card, classic controller, rechargable battery+docking station, component cables, Wii Points Card and games too... but at least i don' t have to see if anybody wants a copy of Bratz: The Game! I' ve ordered: Super Mario Galaxy (duh!) Resident Evil 4 Wii NiGHTS Twilight Princess Wii Super Paper Mario Wario Ware Smooth Moves No More Heroes (out on the 29th) Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity (out on the 29th) Yay! * No that probably isn' t a real game, ...but you get the point

Its impressive its actually so hard to get a hold of in england, in denmark you can go into any store and just buy it. Iv yet to complete SMG, as the gameplay just didnt grasp me in anyway. I should give it another shot one day. For now im content shoooting people in COD4

My roommate had one before we graduated. He played it for the first two weeks then never played it again (he managed to get his at launch). I played 8 hours total in Zelda before I got bored with it and never picked it up again. He ended up selling it on Ebay when we moved out. It was a waste of money.

I probably would have enjoyed it more with a regular controller. I dunno... the game just didn' t do anything for me.

I was playing the cube version of Zelda, it was decent, the lack of Voice overs was unforgivable though, Zelda should move into the next gen as well. The art style of it seemed like a copy of ICO and SotC, im fond fond of the bright and colorful of pretty much every Zelda since then. I know they wanted to make it more grown up, but how grown up can a hero in green tights and strange hat be? Zeldas best when he' s just a kid, WW is my all time favorite. One day when the Wii version is cheap ill grab that. im still hoping for WW style Zelda though.

I realise that there aren' t an awful lot of great traditional games out, but i' ve been holding of and holding off and i' ve been desperate to get my own copies of Galaxy and Prime 3, and now that No More Heroes is nearly out and i found a console for it' s actual RRP... i figured i' d just grab it. It' s probably worth noting that Wii is the first console i haven' t had on launch day since the Saturn.

For the price of the console, if you don' t have to worry about making a choice between the big three, and can find one at MSRP there are enough good titles to warrant a purchase.

And i' m still playing both Super Mario 64 and Sunshine. Respect Nitro! Mario 64 is just as much fun to play now as it was when it came out, and while Sunshine wasn' t as good it was still miles better than any other platformer out at the time. Mario is and always will be the king when it comes to platformers.
