My Final Fantasy III Japanese (DS) Hands-on impressions.

Intro Movie - almost DVD Quality with amazing music (Nobuo after all) - The best FF intro since FF8 (I haven' t seen remakes of previous games for PS (FF4,5,6) which had intro movies added) Visuals - Top Notch - this game looks like Final Fantasy 7 in full 3d.The worldmap looks so cool (better than the one in FF7 or 8). (those screens don' t do it justice - it all looks so good on the DS screen) Audio - NOBUO UEMATSU (all I need to say) Battles - they are slow (but I assume you can change their speed in the config menu -as always, everything is in Japanese for now so I don' t know how). Visually battles are awesome (with huge bosses). It' s awesome to just walk around - it' s done really well.Cities are so pretty and indoor enviroments like shops are gorgeous. The only thing that I can' t speak of is the story - I don' t understand a word in japanese :) I' ve just played a while , defeated one boss, explored some dungeons and went to the world map and then to some city - it feels like playing FF7 :)

I fuckin love it :) I love the way characters look in CG Movie - great design and style. I just want it in english damn it... when is this baby comin out in US? You know I payed about 80$ for this sweet device that lets me keep 10-15 games on one flashcard that fits perfectly inot my DS Lite - and I can test whatever I want - actually FIFA 06 looks and plays amazingly cool on DS as well.

Don' t forget to give us more details about how grainy the sound quality is, and don' t say it isn' t cause I heard that sucker at E3 .. Err, well maybe they cleaned up the sound???

yeah I agree ,but on the DS Lite screen, visuals seem just as good - it feels like playing FF7. As for sound - I had no issues with it Terry - and I hate cheap sound - maybe the E3 build wasn' t final , or maybe it doesn' t bother me as much as you (I have no issues with sound).I don' t expect DS to do high end audio after all :)

I don' t know what you' re talking about (didn' t understand that pile of words) but I' m no Sakaguchi fan. I love Nobuo' s music though. I' m still far (OKAMI AND FF12) from getting 360 , but I suppouse it could be my first next gen system. Not because I like the way it looks , how noisy it is or how much it copies the PC gaming experience (stability) but because I can' t deny it has some extremely awesome games. It' s always about games - I had previous Xbox which I thought was the worst console ever made (design, size) , cause I couldn' t say NO to Outrun 2 , Ninja Gaiden , Halo 1, Rallisport Challenge 2, KOTOR and some PC ports (cause I don' t use my PC for games) like HL2 (great port if you ask me) or Full Spectrum Warri or Doom 3.

yeah , but it got mediocre pretty fast (on about 4th or 5th level) It' s a bit of a wasted potential - just like JSRF - the coolest features of DC game were left out.
