skurf: I don' t necessarily think that Tarantino is a BAD director; just an over-rated one. And Reservoir Dogs simply was not as great as everyone seemed to think. I think Scorsese, Mendes (lately), and of course Spielburg top the list. I liked Mel Gibson' s direction in Braveheart and Peter Jackson' s in the LotR trilogy.

I felt East is East was overrated, it was meant to be a dark comedy but seemed a bit of a depressingly sad experience in the end?

LOTR , easilly. Peter Jackson is a horrible director. Everything else he did sucked. Out of 3 hours, theres only 5 minutes of good footage in the movie, 2 mins in the beginning and 3 in the end. The rest of the movie sucked hairy ass.

Jackson has done a wonderful job with the LOTR. Obviously as a fan of the books, there were things I was dissapointed in, however I understand the reasons why things were changed or omitted. It many areas, they films brought the books to life much as I thought of them. As for Over rated movies... Anything that uses cliche' s(sp?) in the Trailers, such as... In a World... Pushed to the Limit... One Man against... On a mission to save mankind... All that lame action shit. Mr. Bunnies -peace

Very true, I' m not saying you shouldn' t be hyped about the sequels, I think everyone should be. I' m just sayin your point on having one man wage war and all that other blah blah blah stuff is exactly what the Matrix is all about, it just has a big twist to it.

Saving Ryan' s Privates: (No Matter how many awards this movie won/wins, I didn' t enjoy Saving Private Ryan at all) Star Wars: I personally thought they were ' good' but NOT *sleep in line for 2 days just to get movie tickets* GREAT...

They had a new trailer for Matrix Reloaded at X2. It was unbelievible. It starts where Trinity falls backwards out of a window of a sky scraper. She is blasting straight up with two uzis. Then Agent Smith jumps out the window after her. It is all in slow mo and you can see the bullets wizzing back and forth between eachother. So cool! There is much more but it would take forever to write.

gah! I knew something from tarantino would end up in here...oh well I' ll try to stay calm. I kinda agree that resevoir dogs isn' t his best work. I' ve always thought Star Wars was overrated, but I' m just not personally into it. If I were, I can see how it would be such a great movie. Matrix? The first one was incredible, but I saw it before I had ever studied philosophy. After going thru a class I realized the idea wasn' t THAT original- I just wouldn' t call it overrated Titanic. Ha, I actually thought it was pretty good the first time I saw it. I really didn' t know it was so hyped until a week or so after I saw it. But the fact that it made as much as it did makes me want to puke. Shrek. I liked it, I can' t deny that. But maybe I' m missing something, b/c I don' t think it should have recieved the amount of attention that it did.
