Good to know where American taxpayers money is going...

Well it' s not like they are miltary grade lasers like from some crappy spy movie. They are putting lasers on the moon to find out who is right about gravity because bouncing the lasers off of reflectors make to weak of a signal. I think its kinda silly considering how much money they are goingto need which they will extract from us the american taxpayers. Its just another NASA experiment that will prolly go horribly wrong.

I like NASA. You have to admit, the Hubble telescope has been pretty amazing.

It doesn' t come with a x16000 scope with the words " light-brown people beware" etched into the side of the barrel. Clearly it wasn' t issued by the United States Government.

Hey, at least it' s something interesting. What would you rather have taxpayer money go for... schools? Talk about a waste of money. Judging by many of the people who post here and elsewhere on the internet, kids just ignore what they' re taught in school anyhow. Grammar, spelling, even common sense are rarely used. They make the excuse that they' re not writing an essay, so proper usage of the language isn' t necessary. Practice makes perfect, kiddies. Proper use of the language isn' t only for essays.

More money in schools is a total waste. 45% of my class dropped out.

Why exactly do we have to find out how far away the moon is? It might have some use to determine necessary fuel for shuttles if there were anything to go back there for, but as it stands, it' s mainly just a giant dusty rock in space. On the subject of education, we could use the money wasted on this to pay students to go to school, that way, some of them might actually not hate it.

these kind of things are very important for people who study this kind of stuff, I dunno who, but somebody.

Why do we need to know anything about the moon or planets? It hasnt helped much so far, except maybe kill off some myths about the moon. All the money we dump into space probes to go around planets looking at their rocks and gases is useless.

How is it useless? Do you think the Earth will last forever? Already we are overpopulating the hell out of it by having way too many god damned kids. Unless we get into a whole bunch more wars and nuke each other, overpopulation will continue to be a problem.

I guess some people just can' t see beyond their own limited existence.

Then what do we do when the next planet gets overpopulated? Move on to another? Besides, if the Earth is overpopulated now, then how are we going to move everyone to a whole new planet in the future?
