Windows 7 has been demo' d http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7422924.stm Now seeing as I put this in the gaming threads, my question to you guys is, do you think that this new version of windows will do much for PC gaming? What ' Touch enabled' peripherals would you like to see to enhance the gaming experience. Or do you just think this will go the same way as Vista?

This touch thing isnt new. M$ made these earlier and used them in fancy casinos and restaurants. If the long developed Vista didnt cut it for people, do you think a half baked OS will do? We will find out come 2009.

Can you really call it Windows 7, or is it really just Vista 2.0 with hopefully a lot of the problems removed? We can only wait and hope I guess.

Vista was an ambitious OS but the deadline came too fast for MS, it had many of it' s most promissing features pushed back to Windows 7. Vista isn' t that bad though, most of it' s problems come from third party software and driver issues, it' s not entirely Microsofts fault. I' ve been using Vista for months now and I never had any serious virus or spyware/malware problems. Infact the only issue I had was when my anti spyware program caused issues itself (SpySweeper) a great program for XP but really fucks up Vista. After uninstalling Spsweeper Vista worked as advertised. I believe MS when they say Vista is more secure than XP. I had a few hardware incompatibility issues, driver issues, game crashes (Nvidias fault) though. The worst thing is that some games simply do not work. I bought Kotor 2, doesn' t work . Overall I would have been just as happy skipping Vista and going straight to Windows 7 from XP. A lot of people will be doing this.
