RE: Metroid Prime 3!!!!!!

I still like Metroid Prime more than Halo. In fact, I bought Halo this week to play it before Halo 3 arrives but I don' t think the game has aged well at all. It plays and looks like crap. I would even go so far as to say that Metroid Prime > Halo in graphics. So after playing it for a while now, I' ve decided not to buy Halo 3 at all.

VX... how can I put this nicely? Would you like to die? Meh, let' s not turn this into another Halo vs. Metroid Prime fight. They got old the first time, why bring ' em back? Back on topic though, as much as I want to belive that Metroid Prime 3 is going to be a 10/10 game, I want to hear it from some other more reputable sources before I believe it.

Metroid Prime > Halo in graphics i think Metroid prime looks more attractive than halo does, this is almost a fact , you don' t have to be shy for saying it Ginjirou, Halo 1, though technicaly was good but lack the artistic beauty that Metroid has. this is true for Halo 2 as well, but this time , it didn' t impress me even technicaly , i expected much better, and the art design is just meh. Metroid is very atmospheric, it looks great and beautiful in many areas. and now look at halo 3, the game look great but still below of what you expect of such a huge title. is it 60fps? if that' s so then they have a good excuse.

Metroid will be a great game, from the 1up podcast i heard , it seems that it will get a great score and the reviewer sounded like he really enjoyed it but he didn' t want to discuss about the review, they were not allowed to at that point.

Alright then, I cave. If we' re going to turn this into a debate, let' s keep it factually based along with our opinions. this is true for Halo 2 as well, but this time , it didn' t impress me even technicaly , i expected much better, and the art design is just meh. Metroid is very atmospheric, it looks great and beautiful in many areas. and now look at halo 3, the game look great but still below of what you expect of such a huge title. is it 60fps? if that' s so then they have a good excuse. Metroid Prime > Halo Metroid Prime 2< Halo 2 Metroid Prime' s visuals were fantastic. 2' s were very generic & bland. The whole light vs. dark element was so very predictable. Halo was a very technically impressive game for the time. It boasted better polys, higher-res textures and (if I remember correctly) some pretty good ragdoll for consoles at the time. I thought it looked totally uninspired, despite all of it' s technical achievements. I look at multiplayer maps and campaign levels as well designed as the Zanzibar streets level, & I have absolutely no desire to go back to Halo: Combat Evolved.

sorry i didn' t play or even see somebody playing the second metroid, and from the pictures , i think you are right. Halo was a very technically impressive game for the time. I thought it looked totally uninspired, despite all of it' s technical achievements. exactly.

F*** reviews, I' ll like the game no matter what. MP3 is what I' ve been waiting for since MP2. All other games are just something to keep me occupied in between. I don' t know what I' m going to do now that Metroid Prime is finished. I guess I' ll simply stop playing videogames, at least until Guardian Heroes or Shenmue gets proper sequels.

You could pull a " German Keyboard Kid" & put it up on youtube. C' mon! Do it for the lulz! I' m going to have rent a copy & bring it over somebody who has a Wii' s house. If the control scheme is as amazing as everybody is making it out to be, I want to experience it firsthand.

Metroid Prime 2 was both better and worse than the first game. The light side world was amazing with better design than the first game. The dark world however was pretty boring which by itself lowers the score for the graphics. If they had kept the same level in the dark world as they had in the light world MP2 would' ve exceeded MP1. The luminoth were really cool, even though you pretty much only meet U-mos. And the multiplayer drags down the average score even more. I' m pretty damn sure that if it weren' t for the multiplayer MP2 would have a higher ranking at gamerankings.com. To me Metroid Prime is an adventure game. I' d rather put it in the same cathegory as Shenmue than Halo. Which explains why the multiplayer sucked so much. Now, I read a little in some gaming magazine that said that Metroid Prime 3 is a little more action packed like Halo and less an adventure game as the previous games. That saddens me as it has been my worst fear that they' d try to compete with what I hate. But at least the guy said that the game kept you on your toes all the time so maybe it' ll be more like the RE evolution when RE went from slow and creepy to fast-pazed and action packed.

I think the story elements in metroid were delivered in a boring and uninspirering way, i much prefer Halos direct storytelling. also the weaponry in Metriod is bland, though the ball is really cool. Im actually not a big Halo 3 fan, but i definetly prefer it to Metroid. The universe just feels so limited as you enter it, i actually like a bit of background info about who i am, and whats happening in the world.

You' re Samus Aran, intergalactic bounty hunter and dangerous phazon is spreading through the galaxy and it' s your destiny to stop it. During your battles you encounter old and new enemies ranging from space pirates and metroids to the ing and chozo ghosts. Now that' s what I call a great story. In Metroid Prime, the story is brought forward by yourself, you scan stuff and you experience stuff. You even get to know the history and behaviour of your enemies and allies. I love that. It makes the world come alive and everything in it seems to have a purpose, a history and you can use that knoweldge to your advantage. An adventure game indeed.

Half of the fun of an advenuture game is figuring all of that crap out for yourself VX! It' s certainly not the best FPS I' ve ever played, but it' s definately the best adventure game I' ve played thusfar.

A little something I got off the Sonic Stadium forums A member of the Gamefaq forums got a change to try out MP3:C at his local Gamestop. Upon doing so he discovered an interesting little feature where you collect tokens, some involving WiiConnect24. Here’s what he has to say: Here’s a part of the game that I had no idea even existed. If you accomplish small tasks in the game, you are awarded with bonus tokens. These tokens come in four colors: Red, Blue, Green, and Gold. Red tokens are given as you scan a certain number of enemies/items. Blue tokens are given for scanning lore and accomplishing side tasks. Green I believe are when friends give you vouchers, more on that later. Gold tokens are given for beating bosses on various difficulties. You use the tokens to unlock hidden content in the extras menu. The final type of token is the “friend voucherâ€. Basically these are given for accomplishing some type of cool accomplishment in the game. For example, when I beat the boss, a gold token flashed at the top of my screen saying it was for killing Lord Beserker. At an earlier point, I saved a GF trooper from being killed by two enemies. I was given a blue token for that one. I also obtained two friend vouchers. In one case, I saved a GF trooper from being sucked into space. In another case, I killed 100 small bugs in a room before leaving. According to the game, you apparently send these “achievements†to your friends, and they give them green tokens. I think it’s a level of competition between friends to see who’s unlocked the most “achievementsâ€. I was interested in this since there was a “Friend Roster†option and a “Configure Wii Connect 24″ option on the menu.

You don' t think Halo has aged well at all? Can you think of many other games from so many years ago that hundreds of thousands of people still play regularly? Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Call of Duty. Super Mario 64. Half Life 2. The original Crash Bandicoots. The original Spyro' s. All of these games are past their prime graphically (Half-Life 2 is arguable, but there are far better looking games out there). My point is that these games still have an enormous cult following, because they still kick ass after 4, or 6, or even 11 years. That' s what I feel Halo really lacks. Am I any less excited about playing 3 because I don' t like 1? No. I' m glad that Halo:CE sold as well as it did. It gave Bungie an opportunity to turn out a really good game the next time around.

I' d just like to say that Metroid Prime is an adventure game, even though it is played in firstperson view and contains shooting elements. That being said, I' ve always been frank about the fact I' m no Halo fan, so it shouldn' t be much of a surprise that I prefer Metroid Prime to Halo as a game, however thinking them both as a FPS then Halo > Metroid Prime IMO. I never thought the first Halo impressed in terms of graphic (neither techncally nor its artistry), however the gameplay was rather fun when playing Co-Op and I can never forget the first ride with the Warthdog. Halo 2 on the other hand had real purdy graphics, however lacked in terms of gameplay according to me, due to downgraded scale of the enviorments and the lack of " freshness" . What I' ve seen of Halo 3 has yet to impress me on any term, ' cept perhaps the textures which looks mighty fine... oh, and the 4 plaer Co-Op that' s bound to kick ass! Metroid Prime was great, I haven' t got many complaints about this game, but the second failed to get my interest, thus haven' t played enough to even give an opinion on. Metroid prime 3 however has got my interest, not only because it' s one of the few Wii games that has potential to actually be " Good" Anyhow, I think it' s that time of the month again, when we list all the best console FPS games in the short history of gaming. I start Goldeneye Perfect Dark Turok Halo Metroid Prime (If counted as a FPS) Killzone Timesplitter 2 I haven' t played black so I cannot say anything about it, but what else might' ve I missed?

Goldeneye Perfect Dark Turok Halo Metroid Prime (If counted as a FPS) Killzone Timesplitter 2 Ahem.... whaaa aaaaaaaa? Killzone was entertaining, and almost playable online if you had people you knew to play with, but it was nowhere near good. Another 4 months in the oven would have meant it could sit up there with Perfect Dark & Timesplitters. It' s really hard to come up with a console-only shooters list, seeing as anything that looks pretty on a console nowadays looks prettier on a high-end PC.

Hundreds of thousands of idiots Seriously though, Halo only sucks in my personal opinion. I can see how other people like it. games that aged well... hmmm, Starcraft? Tetris? Counter-Strike 1.6? FFVII? Those aged well IMO. I can still play them and be as impressed as I was back when they were released.
