Ugly or not, if the game looks better than KOTOR then I' m happy because the rest of the game (gameplay, story, music, atmosphere etc.) is supposed to be awesome.
F*** all you graphic whores. Mass Effect will be great no matter how ugly it gets.
The concept looks interesting to me too. Besides that, I don' t even know what the problem is with the graphics really. I haven' t been following the game that much though, so I don' t know exactly what could be expected. And as someone pointed out, some games look stranger in screenshots than others.

Even if the graphics looked as bad as the pictures (they won' t) it will still be one of if not the best game(s) of the year. This game will be magnificent regardless of graphics.
