I don' t like being 24
-
Mar 15, 2007 21:21
The years seem to be speeding up and it' s pissing me off. Just one more year and half my life will be over!!! I liked being 23. It was a good age. Now i just feel old. Not wiser, just frickin' old!!! I mean a few years ago i was thinking where i' d be and what i' d be doing when i was 25 and it included things like children and stuff. Life is just passing too quickly... Alcohol doesn' t seem to be helping either.

You expect too much of yourself. Just relax and have fun.

Well, it helps to not think about time in the little segments we' ve put it into over the years, but as a river that you want to ride down as long as you can. Of course Lewis Black refers to time as a river of sh*t, and as you paddle down it in your little canoe, your oar keeps getting shorter. It also might help to spend a lot of time around the senior iron man competitions to show that you can still be healthy and competent in your old age, either that or spend some time around nursing homes to make you feel better about yourself now. Just one more year and half my life will be over!!! Good God! What' s the life expectancy where you' re from?

Holy shit Nitro, does that mean I have 12 years left to live then? I used to think the same way, but I am almost 36, getting married in just over a month, have a good circle of friends, earn a good wage. Life as they say is good.

Just enjoy it while you' ve got it bud. You' ve seen China, Canada, the USA, Egypt(?) Regardless, you' ve gone more places than some will in their entire lives. Not to mention, you only really start getting to do cool shi7 when you turn 18 anyway, so you' ve really only knocked off 7 years of useful time. You' ve got over 25 more years to kill before you start to slow down. God... I should be the next Dr. Phil!

I liked being 23. It was a good age. Now i just feel old. Not wiser, just frickin' old!!! Sorry kid, but nothing sounds younger and more naive than a 24-year-old saying he feels old! There' s nothing you can do to stop the passage of time. All you can do is endeavor to live to the fullest all the time. Doing some work on the side to help others less fortunate than you is also worth looking into.

Hell when i turned 24 this year I felt no different, 23 and 22 weren' t so good either. Blasted Bitch. Zoy you mean well and it is what you do now and how you spent time with others that count, but my heart is happily painted black. The world made me what I am now.

Some cool dude once said " life is not the moments you have lived, but the moments you remember" You seem to have lots of great memories so you' ve probably lived your life to the fullest so far.

You only plan on living until you are 50? 24 isn' t bad. Hell, 34 isn' t bad (I' m not there yet). But if you want to speed up looking like an old man, then alcohol, cigarettes and lack of sleep are all good ways to do it. Fortunately I don' t smoke, rarely drink and sleep 16 hours a day so I look like I' m 12 years old!

I do sleep 16 hours, but not in one day. Maybe in about 1 and 3/4 of a day. Actually I usually get a bit less than 7 or 8 hours if I' m lucky on work days, and then I try and go for as much as I can when I don' t have to work.

Just one more year and half my life will be over!!! Since you could die tomorrow or live to the grand old age of 100, this statement could be so very wrong
