At least we' re doing something right! Antarctic ozone hole smaller in 2004, scientists say Last Updated Fri, 01 Oct 2004 12:11:37 EDT WELLINGTON - The ozone hole over Antarctica appears to have shrunk about 20 per cent from last year' s record size, scientists said Friday. The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research in New Zealand said its measurements show the hole peaked at about 24 million square kilometres, compared to 29 million square kilometres in 2003. I didn' t think the hole could shrink. i remember being told in high school that the o-zone layer would get bigger until we all died a horrible, horrible death. *pff*.

Thanks for the news story, Sharon. I recently saw a TV story about this northern hemisphere water current that had stopped running...meaning that the warmer waters of the south would not bring warmer salt water and winds to the north. Each time (in the past) this flow was disrupted, an ice age followed. What caused this disruption of flow? Global warming allowed too much fresh water to mix with the salt water of the north. The arctic meltdown would be a very good source of fresh water...

What actually happened to global warming this year? After last year' s hottest summer ever in the UK, this year we got the coldest/wettest summer ever and a hell of a lot of trouble in Florida with 4 hurricanes. I dunno, you can' t rely on anything these days [:' (]

Now, if we could just close up that pie-hole that Baby Bush keeps using to spout all those lies...now THAT would be something!!!
