Highlander On The Way! " From the dawn of time We came; moving silently down through the centuries, living many secret lives, struggling to reach the time of the Gathering; when the few who remain will battle to the last. No one has ever known we were among you... until now"
SCi Entertainment and Davis Panzer Productions today announced they have joined forces to develop the game rights to the classic Highlander franchise.
Highlander began with the film of the same name in 1986 starring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery and since then the brand has spawned an additional three movies, a successful international TV series, a huge online fanbase, trading card games, and in excess of $100,000,000 in global sales of DVDs.
Highlander follows the adventures of the Immortals, powerful warriors living secretly among us, living day-to-day lives, they seek out their adversaries, destroying each other throughout history until only one will remain.
Patrick O' Luanaigh, Creative Director at SCi said; " There are so many great opportunities with such a rich license as the Highlander franchise. We will be working closely with Peter Davis and Bill Panzer to develop the Highlander universe further. The concept is ideal for a game."
Davis and Panzer noted that, " As we approach the Highlander Twentieth Anniversary Celebration, we are delighted that the Highlander game will be an integral part of that celebration."
