Even having it diagrammed, I lose interest about halfway through and just start thinking about multiplayer strategy.

My thoughts exactly. I guess this is for the cinema skippers out there.

Is it really that hard? I quit playing the story mode half-way on the first one, so you can probably guessed how far I quit on the second . Haven' t played 3rd though, I heard the multiplayer is sick.

The co-op in the campaign mode is a lot of fun. With the difficulty cranked up to Legendary and some of the skulls turned on it can be pretty challenging. But if you play a lot of online or LAN multiplayer, it' s really not the same type of challenge because the AI, while usually pretty good, is of course a lot more predictable than human opponents. As for the story not being " complicated," it' s also not very interesting. It' s not like you can really " relate to" these characters and their superhuman space military saga, so I honestly was not paying attention to the story in the cutscenes.

It' s like any online focused FPS, the story is an excuse to have cut scenes.
