In its original packaging still unopened. oh, you' re one of those... ...^^^ that good?! it' s fuckin awesome - I saw it in a store nearby - they have a white version. It' s what MS uses to show their games at E3 and so on (there was an article about making a good and pretty affordable LCD display for the 360 and that' s the one)

I' m putting the 37" in my room and using it as a PC monitor as well :O I' m trying to set everything in my room to have TV/PC/Consoles all hooked up to it yet be able to use them all comftorably. I need like a small desk or some kind of specially designed sofa/chair so I can use a wireless keyboard and mouse from a good distance away, the monitor I have now is failry small and I can just sit right infront of it but this one is too big to do it. After that I need to find a good spot to hang the TV to a wall that will work while Im using the mouse/keyboard on a chair or desk, and have a good enough viewing angle for when Im on my bed playing consoles or watching TV. I' m keeping the 40" in the living room.

So any PC hardware fanatic gearheads in here that can tell me whether to get 2 7900GT or one 7950GT as the price is just about the same! NEITHER! wait for the X1950XTX coming Sept 14th. It will be the most powerful DX9 card. It' s basically a 1900XTX except it' s ram is DDR4 and clocked much higher. A 1900XTX is clocked at 650/1550Mhz While a a 1950XTX is clocked at 650/2000Mhz. The 1950XTX is built on a lower fabrication proccess (80n) and combined with a beter heat sink and fan it should be much cooler and quieter then previous 1900s. I know that games like Oblivion and Black and White 2 that are shader intensive eat up memory bandwidth and thus the memory clock becomes a bottleneck. So by increasing the memory clock like this I think the 1900s will see a pretty good boost with many of the most advanced games. If you want real benchmarks, the NDA is officially lifted today August 23rd so expect performance numbers soon enough. I' ll probably post them here if no one else does. Also with the new driver update ATI cards have caught up to Nvidia with Open GL games which show higher fps in games that Nvidia had an unusual lead on them. ATI is also releasing at the same time a 1900XT with 256mb of ram instead of 516mb, I' m possitive these will give the 7900GTs a swift kick in the nuts. I expect these new cards to have HDCP support. If for some reason you don' t like Ati, and want one of your choice I suggest you consider the 7950GX2 since it performs better then 7900gt sli and has twice the ram. Also the 7950GX2 are HDCP compliant while the 7900gts are not. If you ever want to watch HD content from BR or HD-DVDs you need a HDCP videocard and monitor as well as the content obviously. Any of you buying a videocard should make sure its HDCP compliant. I' m not an ATI fanboy i actually have a 7600gt (upgrading to DX10). I' m considering upgrading to a 1950XTX myself but I want to wait for the Nvidia G80 (DX10) thats coming out Sept/Oct and see how it handles DX9 games first.

Oh, I thought you' re one of those freaks that buy action figures and keep them factory sealed for years You should try to sell it on ebay though - I wouldn' t be surpriseed if someone was willing to pay for it :)

I have a 7900GTX and it' s fine... I run pretty much every game at highest possible settings with a smooth framerate. It' s good to see ATI is fixing the open GL issue, it was pretty dissapointing to see lower end nvidia cards surpass higher end ones in open GL games, my next card will be a DX10 ATI probably.

How is a $500 video card mid-range? Anyway I think Im gonna return the 1080p LCD... supposedly the response time is 8ms but sometimes it looks like shit when theres alot of motion going on... thats what I get for going off brand... it looks like like a 16-24ms reponse time to me.

480i games on HDTV look like shit, 480i is like 240p, and when your TV' s native rez is 720p it has to blow up the image almost 3 times to make it fit, which make it look like shit. 480p games dont look that bad though, the image would only get blown up like 30% or so. Anyway, I was looking at the paper and saw a 1080P 37" LCD HDTV for sale at Fry' s Electronics for only $1200, I may get it, that is the cheapest I' ve ever seen a 1080p TV and it says the offer ends August 1... as in today. < Message edited by Evil Man -- 1 Aug 06 11:27:32 > I found it just by quickly looking through this thread alone. I don' t know if he was right or not but the post is rather " normal" .

lmao, you don' t even know what you have. btw 480p and 480i are the same resolution (640x480) so they would both get " blown up" the same amount. nubcake. The TV does not downscale it to 240p then upscale it to 720p. 480i is not the same thing as 240p either. I suppose it is a rather normal post compared to his others though. He just blabs about things he knows nothing about.

First of all, as I suggested countless times take reading comprehension classes, I said 480i is like 240p, not 480i equals 240p. 480i on a screen that cant display interlace is equivalent in quality to a blown up 240p image, its not that hard to understand.

Hey Evil Dick, you haven' t posted pictures of your TV yet, you just keep talking about it. Surely if you can afford a $1200 HDTV you can afford a digital camera, ...or do you live in a slum and don' t want us to see the rats that occupy your floorspace?!
