The Japanese wouldn' t approve of nudity, even if western games would, but will they trun their noses up at this?! And would this, if emphasised properly through the games marketing (though subtly) aid sales in the west?!

Actually, from what I' ve studied, the modern Japanese society is quite accepting of sexual or suggestive content much like the rest of the world. Now that I think of it, perhaps they' re more accepting than the western world as a lot of their young teen shows have sexual suggestivity in it, much more than any equivalent western show. What' s accepted in Japanese society would have no chance in hell getting past the censors in the western world.

So the answer is yes. This is normal and will equate to higher sales. Heck, have a look at any anime/manga female protagonist. 90% of them are scantily clad, even though it' s not necessary.

The only conservatives are those in the government. Much of the laws about pornography/nudity censorship are from just after WW2, and aren' t really relevant today - even though they are still enforced.

Given how more open to sexually explicit things in games that Japan was in the past (remembering some 16-bit games with panty shots and partial breast shots) I' m actually a little surprised by Itagaki' s comment (if he' s referring to partial nudity and not full-on nudity).

My guess is that he wants the game to appeal to female gamers.

I' m guessing that he' s bullshiting to get some attention. He probably hopes this will generate some " nudity hype" .

Quez might not admit to buying it but we all know he will. If i didn' t have a girlfriend i would use the excuse that i must own any game by Itagaki, but i do and she wants the game so i don' t need to.

With all the erotic games Japan has, I almost find it odd that haven' t gone all the way with DOAX2. Although I am happy that they haven' t, as in it' s current state the slight sleazyness of the game is yet not sleazy enough to make me " wrinkle" my " nose" at it and as it is I simply find it to be a " funny thing" .

One probably shouldn' t make DoAX2 to more than it is, but I am almost 67.8% possitive that this will be " THE BEST PARTY GAME EVAAAHR!"

Yes, but he' s on crack and will never publicly admit the real point of the DOA girls because of his " personal connection" with them. Japan loves nudity, porn and suggestiveness and they love it when it' s in games. Every other game shop in Akihabara is also a porn shop and most game stores have at least one floor dedicated to sex based games and/or outright porn. That is why DOA is popular and why there are 30 different books full of DOAX artwork on shelves at any one time.
