COD5 Already Playable - Using COD4 Engine

Sources tell us that the upcoming Call of Duty 5 game in development is already playable, and currently going through quality assurance. Treyarch is also said to be the developer, and the title, we' re told, is set in a WWII Pacific environment and will be using Call of Duty 4' s engine, the same engine on which the upcoming James Bond: Quantum of Solace movie game is being built. Yesterday, on the company' s call to investors, Activision publishing CEO Mike Griffith said CoD5 would be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and DS, in addition to a return for the franchise to PS2 and Wii for the first time in two years. Once games are in a playable state they' re always going through QA. Considering they' re using the COD4 engine it was probably playable the first week they start working on it.

Gay. Are you coming out of the closet? COD4 was on the DS, COD3 was on Wii, Xbox and PS2. It doesn' t change anything when those versions are developed by another team. I don' t care how much the game is stripped for the lesser platforms, the PS3/360 and PC versions will be unaffected.

I have to admit, I' m reservedly anticipating five, even though I know I shouldn' t be. We haven' t seen a pacific theater game in a long time, and a good one in even longer, the fact that they' ll be using Infinity Ward' s engine at least puts my mind at rest about the graphics... ...but then again, it wasn' t 3' s graphics we had to worry about.
