I loved WOW back in the day. After I quit for a while and played Oblivion I tried getting back into it but thought it sucked. I lost all favor with the game. I still own the game but I' m not keen on paying the monthly fee when I barely have time to play it.

EVE>WOW, EVE beats WOW in every regard and they don' t charge you for the expansions either, which is ridiculous by he way! They charge you a monthly fee and charge you for expansions. FUCK OFF! Updates and expansions are supposed to be part of the fee you pay every month. Eat shit Blizzard.

Besides the lore is great, the graphics style is great, and its fun to boot. Blizzard did something right, or EVE would have 8 million subscribers and not WoW

Halo 2 sold 2.38 Million on the first day versus the claimed 2.4 million for WoW BC. I would like to see the official numbers from an official source for BC before I consider it beaten since it is so close. But I doubt BC came anywhere close to the $125 million H2 made the first day. Considering H2 sold for $50 each with many being the SE at $60 each versus BC at $40 each.

Well since 8million people will want BC, its a matter of Blizzard having produced enough to outsell pretty much anything!

I started out on WoW and then a friend introduced me to Everquest 2. Never looked back really, EQ2 is much more interesting than WoW. Head and shoulders above and beyond WoW. Plus in the time it took Blizzard to knock out one expansion, SOE has had three massive expansions already. I' m not sure why so many people play it when there are so many better MMORPG' s out there. I' d say the only thing that WoW does slightly better than EQ2 is PvP, and that gets old really fast.

I still own the game but I' m not keen on paying the monthly fee when I barely have time to play it. Complete opposite for me...Oblivion really sucked compared to WoW, amazing game and it has great depth but the fighting system in Oblivion didn' t work...it felt like I was whacking them with a stick rather than actually hitting them. First off the Patches coming up to the Expansion were really mini-expansions...you got a shit load of content for $15 a month, not only that but the game is fucking amazing. I have never played a game so polished and massive (aside from LoZ:TP) that can keep your interest for hours. I think a lot of nay-sayers of WoW either hate Blizzard for being a good game company or didn' t get in when other people did and so when people talk about it get defensive since they aren' t a part of it. EQ2 sucks as well, played that for a good while before realizing how bad it was (loved the voice acting though). Also it is 36 VX til 60 for you, unless you are going to outlands after you hit 70 :P Blizzard to knock out one expansion, SOE has had three massive expansions already :P Haha, that is what made EQ1 so bad. A ton of expansions don' t mean the content is good. 1 Great Expansion will always triumph over 3 ok expansions. Also WoW has been churning out content this whole time up to the expansion. Though I will admit as the expansion neared the content was starting to get old...but now that it is out, all is well in the world.

I never played EQ1 so I can' t comment on that but that is the most ignorant statement ever. You probably played EQ2 at its infancy, when it was quite a bit more daunting than it is today. EQ2 has come a LONG way since its initial release. The Devs have done a good job turning EQ2 into a great game. If you tried it at release and then left, don' t hesitate to give it a try again. You will likely be surprised. I can tell you right now without a doubt, EQ2 has better and more frequent free and paid for content than WoW. I didn' t actually buy the expansions until two weeks ago, never needed to. Each to his own though. I' m not going to start being a posterboy/fanboy just for the sake of it. The main thing that keeps me away from WoW is the community. I' ve never encountered a community where intelligence or maturity is so low. edit: The game isn' t ranked higher than WoW on MMORPG.com for nothing you know.

History has proven that the most popular game isn' t always the best. Maybe we' re being unfair in comparing EVE with WOW as they are not even the same gendre especially with regards to sales. EVE has a much steeper learning curve as it has so much more to offer and thusly that much more things to learn. The reason I Like EVE and hate WOW is because WOW has shallow gameplay that is focused on " the grind" and EVE has the most depth of any game ever made and there is no grind. It is to date probably the only true MMO. WOW is just a money pit that really has nothing to offer beyond wanting to increase the number next to your skills. Games liek WOW and Guildwars are just traps but at least GW doesn' t charge you a monthly fee. Allow me to outline a few facts about EVE most of you don' t know: -EVE only has one playing server, in other words everyone that plays the game is playing together in the same map. No other game does this. -of 5000 solar systems. I seriously doubt anyone has been everywhere.EVE is the biggest game ever made, it' s composed -Skills aren' t advanced by repeating the same action 50 million times. Instead you choose a skill and it advances on it' s own in realtime even when you are not playing the game. Anyways i' m tired and I need sleep, I just want to add EVE is easily by far the most intellectual videogame ever made. There is so much depth and so much to do in the game it feels like you are playing 50 games in one. If you' re like me and are of the belief that no videogame is ever complete, well EVE is the closest to being a complete videogame. EVE is a very complex game, actually it' s the complex game. But playing it and succeeding isn' t dependant on how much you play but rather how well you play. Playing smart is everything in this game. Playing EVE feels like playing Poker and Chess at the same time. Every MMO by virtue of not being EVE is a fucking disgrace compared to this masterpiece. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oF3PX9dPtk 14 day trial http://www.eve-online.com/

Eve sounds sweet. The reason I don' t play MMO games is because all they are about is increasing the number next to your name.
