Rockstar has confirmed its controversy-riddled PS2 title Bully has received a name change -- in Europe, UK, and Australia. In these territories, the game will now be known as Canis Canem Edit, which is Latin for " Dog Eat Dog."

While this name may not exactly roll off the tongue like the original name, perhaps it will serve to deflect some of the negative press that the game has been getting throughout Europe. The game had previously received a large amount of negative attention from anti-bullying activists and parents groups. Of course, in North America the name remains unchanged, so American anti-Rockstar advocates like Jack Thompson will still be able to continue their vigilant crusade against the game.

A Rockstar spokesperson declined to comment as to just why exactly this change occurred in these regions.

A stupid name, but the game sounds good though.

No doubt about it...it' s a really stupid name...

Canis Canem alone is pretty okay, but that stupid ' Edit' in the back just makes the whole thing weird! Like it was longer, and someone just put ' edit' in there to mark the cut-off...

They could have just called it straight off, Dog Eat Dog...then PETA would get up in arms when they think it' s a free-roaming dog-cannibal game.

yes it does sound stupid...but the game does sound good

yeah, only this time he' s going to only back out on paying $1000 to the charity of their choice if they make a game showing his political rivals being beaten and/or killed. All that selfish money hoarding took it right out of him.
