*Pff* November 21st. Europe has to wait sometime in ' Q1 2005' to get it. At least it' s cheap. $150 is roughly just over £70. I can see it going for anything from £80-100. The DS is showing a lot of promise; I just hope the developers can keep thinking of new and innovative ways of using two screens and stylus control. Oh, there' s plenty of reason to be excited about the DS. It' s looking to be the most innovative handheld console ever. If Sega released such a device first I' d be as excited as Mr Garbutt clearly is.

I am also getting the Nintendo DS. It looks promising and with all those features it can' t go wrong and plus if I dont buy a game with it. It comes with the built in Pictochat.

Starman check this out, I lifted it from MagicBox and posted it in another thread here :) N I N T E N D O D S - Nintendo announced they will launch the Nintendo DS in Japan on December 2, for 15000 yen. The US launch will take place on November 21, for $149.99. The battery life is 6-10 hours depending on the application. - Nintendo announced that the Nintendo DS is not backward compatible with GameBoy or GameBoy Color games; all GameBoy Advance games will work on Nintendo DS in single player mode only. - Nintendo also revealed that a playable demo of the Nintendo DS first person shooter Metroid Prime: First Hunt will be bundled with Nintendo DS in North America this fall; in addition, the drawing and text based chatting application PictoChat will be embedded into the Nintendo DS system, allowing players to chat wirelessly with others. - Nintendo is planning to ship 4 million units of Nintendo DS worldwide by the end of the current fiscal year, which ends in March 2005.

Looks like you better keep your GB/GBC/GBA... Otherwise, you won' t be able to play your GB/GBC games.

The thing about the DS is that it was never meant to be the successor to the GBA so the fact that we' re get some backwards compatibility with GBA games is still a blessing, regardless of the limitation :) The true successor of the GBA won' t be released until 2006-2007 according to Nintendo.
