I was pondering this in a science lesson the other day:
By music i mean actual songs, not taken from films, sort of contradicting myself here but i think C&C Hell March would go quite well. Blind - KoRn. afew others...they are pretty obvious, can you think of anything better?

I hate when moviemakers use licensed music for important scenes. I doesn' t bother me on credit roles and stuff, but during the movie an original score is ALWAYS better.

For example take Jet Li' s Hero. The scene where he fights Donnie Yen' s charater was awesome, and was made more awesome by the traditionally themed music in the background. How silly would it have been to have some random techno beat or some metal trash I' ve heard 10,000,000 times before in there instead?

Oh yeah i know what you meen. And i deffinatley agree with you, but in my head i was thinking of songs that could be used.

What kind of fight scene?

I' ve got this list all planned out:

I agree an excellent musical score is always quality, however I' m not so quick to write off licensed music either. Let' s face it, professional metal or techno bands are going to makke better metal/techno than composers. My most memorable fight scenes music was Scorpion Vs Johny Cage in Mortal Kombat - Fear Factory' s Zero Signal.

In that vain I' d like to hear:

The Shizit - Audio Jihad
Slayer - Angel of Death
Pantera - Cowboys from Hell
Combichrist - Feed Your Anger

Pretty much anythinng from the Spawn soundtrack would work too :)

The best fighting scene music is the sound of ripping shirts, the breath of a tired warrior, of sweat hitting the floor, of quick footwork, twisting sinew, cracking bones and proud voices screaming out in pain and glory.

No offence Ginjirou but that sounds more like a porn film than a fight scene.

If you want something different for the pre fight scene.
Try " Goin Out West" by Tom Waits. They used part of this song in Fight Club.

" Duel of Fates" by John Williams, when Obi Wan and Qui Gon fought Darth Maul! Can' t be beat!

Of course, the music from the first Blade, when he went into the underground techno club and killed all those vampires, was pretty sweet. Oh, and the music from the matrix when Neo and Trinity shot up the lobby of that building. Sweet!

Reminds me of Aquagen vs Warp brothers - Phatt bass
Or isn' t that the one? Uh, as far as I remember the movie had one that only resembled phatt bass, but those youtube clips sound more like the real phatt bass.
Even the comments on those youtube clips seems to disagree about what song that is.
