Battlefield Vietnam is out and im curious if anyone has picked it up yet? I have heard only good things about it so far. Of course I am hopelessly addicted to the Desert Combat mod for Battlefield but I may pick this up just for the hay of it.

BTW in case you dont know the makers of Desert Combat were picked up by DICE because their product was so good. Now if thats not an example of how to get places I dont know what is. Of course Desert Combat is still free and is still 10 times more fun and better balanced then Battlefield alone.

I did hear that BF Vietnam has better balance and alot of jungle cover to avoid being bombed. Also I heard the choppers fly similar to those in Desert Combat because of the mod' s popularity. Lets not forget 70' s music to make u feel like your back in the time;I

Payback, over at the VIP forums, loves the game. He said it was awesome gunning down the enemy while the radio belted out " I fought the law and the LAW one!" . He also said the shotgun kicks a lot of arse.

Its like an unoffical BF:1942 sequel, so it better be good.

Where can I get the Desert Combat mod?

I have BF Vietnam and I would say it' s pretty good.
The jungle for cover is nice but only for multiplayer.
The game is more frustrating than the original BF because you will die alot and have no idea where it came from (bushes, tress, etc.)
But when playing against the bots, hiding in bushes is useless because they can shoot you as if you were standing in the open.
It is a good game though and the new weapons and vehicles are pretty cool.

I hear its good. Its been getting good reviews.

You wont be disapointed, its 10 times more fun and balanced then regular battlefield. You know the team who created Desert Combat now work for DICE.

Desert combat was definatly the best mod on Battlefield

I didn' t care for Desert Combat at all.

I' ve had Battlefield: Vietnam for quite some time and it' s a lot better than Battlefield 1942. It' s much more immersive, but equally as fun to pick up and play. My only gripe? Those with M-60s might as well call the gun INSTANT DEATH. There' s no good defense except to hide in foliage and snipe if you' re the opposition. The rumor is that this will nerf' d as soon as DICE gets a patch out.
