Who do you think are some of the badasses of the game universe? Dante from " Devil May Cry" comes to mind. Jack Slate of " Dead to Rights" . Max Payne.

Dante is the baddest badass of them all. PERIOD. But Solid Snake and Max Payne also leap readily to mind.

Yeah, Auron rules too. But I' d classify him more as a cool warrrior, rather than an out-and-out badass. He doesn' t have Dante' s, " I' m gonna kick your ass, spit on your corpse, and laugh about it" attitude.

Blech...he has no personality. Dante would tear him up and make a papier-mache hat out of him.

Master Chief- Man of little words but f*cks up everything that gets in his way. Max Payne- That guy has been through hell and back... and then through hell again. He just goes back and forth. Sucks for him. Sam Fisher- He' d tear apart Solid Snake any day. Solid snake- No Sam Fisher, but still a badass. That dude from sword of the Berserker. That dude was tight.

You should check out Beserk, the anime series. They are pretty expensive but are very cool.

ORIGINAL: fathoms Blech...he has no personality. Dante would tear him up and make a papier-mache hat out of him. Someone hasn' t read the books. LOL. Or maybe I' m the only one that understands that some characters exist outside of videogames. Also Halo 2 should build on his personality, faults, and resolve. Read the books and you' ll know what I' m talkin about. And no, Chief would kill him with no problem at all.

immortal: No how does that make any sense? A human with a gun defeating a man who is half-demon, and is essentially impossible to kill unless you' re the devil? And no, I read REAL books.

Sorry Fathoms, but Im going to have to take offense to that. The Halo books are great works of literature regardless of being a Halo fan. Now, how about reading them before judging them. If you like Tom Clancy books then you' ll like the Halo books.

" Great literary works?" I think not. And I hate to tell you this, but Clancy was never a very good writer; just a decent storyteller. The great authors; i.e., Washington Irving, Kurt Vonnegut, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Herman Melville, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Charles Dickens, etc., would be awfully offended if you start lumping their books in with Halo. And I read the first five pages. That' s just about all I needed to read.
