Anybody Else Feelin' Old?
-
Aug 30, 2004 02:03
I went to work at the local furniture store loading items into customers' vehicles. After the first day, I could barely move...every part of my body (and then some), that had anything to do with working, had stiffened up. I was unable to perform basic functions like picking up my two year old son. Not only does this make me feel old, but it makes me wonder what things will be like when I get too old to care for myself... Anybody else feel that way sometimes?

After the first day, anyone would hurt on a job like that. You' ll either get fed up and quit or work through it and eventually your body will adjust. That' s what ya git fer not lifting some weights moderately a week or two in advance of your first day. Me? I am invincible. I' m probably older than anyone on this forum as well.

But Joe, I do lift weights...12 ounces at a time. No, I do not drink beer...I' m talkin' ' bout Red Mountain Dew!!! I would have worked through it, but I was worried that I would lose my high-paying day job (pays over twice as much as the second job). I cannot afford to lose a job that took me 13+ years to get some seniority...not to mention that I work in an office with all women...a guy' s gotta love that! I will find a less physical job, while I work on building a God' s-gift-to-women body...you know, like Ahhhhnold " I' ll be back" Schwartzenwhosen...

It' s sad, I' m only 21 and I feel old. Me and a couple buddies played some basketball last night, I never felt more out of shape. I remember being able to easily touch the rim-- now I am happy to get 4 inches off the ground I guess all the booze and MaryJ don' t help the situation any...

hell yeah! I feel oldest when i see people who are younger than me doing grown up things (because they are grown up). like watching your younger sibling go to the bar for the first time. And my body hates me, so it feels old on a regular basis.

What, 11? o_0 Somebody remind me, what number Superbowl was it this year? I' m not American thus have no clue. I' m 19 anyway and don' t feel too old. Just a little unfit at times like say when I have to run for a bus. Must go to the gym more often...

Going on 23 myself! Not too old, and thankfully not too young. This is a maturely aged board, i like that
