360 Core can now be picked up on PLAY.com for just £149.99, £30 cheaper than Wii.

I think an official price cut commeth, ...premium dropping to £199 looks more and more likely.

Or maybe they' re just having a hard time getting rid of them. Which would be ignorant on their part considering that the 360 (even more true for the ps3) will see a boost in March.

Well many stores are cutting the price of the core. Some stores have started cutting the premium packs price too. With all of the speculation about a new model in April/May, now is about the right time to start clearing inventories, especially if they are planning to completely do away with the core as we know it and make the premium the " core" console.

That' s a good point, I wasn' t thinking of the new model. I guess they have to take these rumors seriously.

On a side note, as much as I want to see the core pack disappear, it would be cool to see it stick around and instead have the price drop to match the Wii. It' s fair to say that the " next gen" has started now that all three consoles are out but things won' t get interesting until we see a price war with the consoles.

Drop the extra 100 & get the Premium. The extra stuff you get is well worth it. Component, headset, HDD & I think you get a weeks worth of Live, but don' t quote me on that one.

There is a good reason why they call the Core pack the retard pack. Only two types of people get the core pack. The soccer moms who don' t know what they are buying and the impatient gamers at launch who got stuck with the core after the premiums were sold out. At launch I was really excited about the 360 and wanted one the day it was released, they were sold out before I even got out of bed that day. The only one I found was a core pack but I decided to wait and ended up getting a premium model a few weeks later. I have no regrets about the wait.

Look at it this way, the Premium pack is 100$ more expensive then the core and the HDD costs 100$, there' s the difference right there. You want a HDD, the memory card is useless and costs like 50$ (I' m not sure) so really it' s a 50$ difference assuming you' re crazy enough to bother with a memory card over a HDD.

Component cables as opposed to composite

Get the premium, no one wants the core.

The ethernet cable is like 5 ft long, which i loved since i had like a 2 ft long one in the first place

20 gb.... if theres going to be a 60GB... or what ever its supposed to be now HD than its kind of a rip off

The headsets are garbage. Me and 3 of my friends' headsets broke within the same week.

Well Quez removed me from his friends list, i removed Gaiden Black because he kept sending me dumb messages and i haven' t played online with Mass, Tiz or anybody else here for an age now.

It probably doesn' t help that i prefer Lost Planet' s online to Gears and can' t get into CoD3 at all

EDIT: Mother Fucker! my copy of Gears is cracked (not scratched but cracked) and uplayable. This is the second time this happened to one of my 360 games, the first one being COD2. It' s a crack form the inner ring leading outwards. This happened while it was in my 360. I' m so pissed this happened again, COD2 was bad enough but I figured it was a freak occurance. However, happening twice is unacceptable. I' m gonna find out wtf is going on with this shit.
