100 best games of all time (IGN 2005)

ok this is a bit old but it' s the most fucked up list ever, not only in ranking games (final fantasy 7 is the 88 th!!!! ) but some classics are just nowhere to be found while some good but not great are right there... IGN stupid ass.

If Super Monkey Ball (the first one on Gamecube) and Shenmue 1 and/or 2 aren' t both in the top 5, then the list is BS.

LOL, If they were on the top 5, I' d delete IGN from my bookmarks and add IGN.COM to my spam filter to make sure I never see anything related to them. Anyway, I dont think their list is going by best actual games, but influential ones. Mario Bros. was probably the most influential game ever... but I can' t play it for 2 seconds now, it' s garbage. Games like Chrono Trigger though, are timeless.

LOL i though you were asking people there own personal top 100 Anyway i must agree with this list (most of the top 10 anyway) - I' ve never played Super Mario so i can' t comment but Zelda and SM64 are in the top 10 so i' m satisfied. Also Civilization (i loved but vowed never to play again due to the insane amount of hours i used to play it) & Starcraft are worthy top ten candidates. Can' t be shitted looking through the list yet, but as long as Zeldas near the top i' m happy!

The highest ranked Sega game is #40?! (VF4 Evolution) Nonsense. You trying to tell me that Sega hasn' t done anything more influential than that?!

They go by what people rated it. IGN' s reader probably doesn' t agree with that score. Some older games that nobody cared about has been left with too high score, and some classic games from the late 90 has been attacked, like FF7.

this list is garbage , even if it' s about influencal games, you telling me that FF7 didn' t influence a whole era bunch of rpg' s? or shenmue by that matter? mortal kombat? how about resident evil , they put alone in the dark ok that' s fine, but the game that revolutionized horror genre is definitly Resident evil , they mentioned the 4th but not the first one?!! WTF OMG where is Gran turismo on psone, the godfather of racing simulation and where is ridge racer and virtua fighter/tekken !! where is pro evolution socer (internation super star soccer on SNES) ok IGN are americans...

ABa im just saying that a lot of people on IGN,doesn' t leave a number since you have to write a review then put in score and then be a member etc. Also the only ones who do this is the fanboys. Xbox fanboy for ex give what halo deserves since it got the same score from the critics, what happends then? Sony fanboys come in and give halo 1/10,and it ends up at something like 92/100. The opposite way also, the only games that get left behind is some SNes/nes and perhaps som N64 and just a lot of PC games.

This list sucks. very few games got the recognition they diserved. for instence in the top 10 the only ones that deserve it were super mario 64, tetris should have been in the top 20, ocarina of time, and super mario bros. the rest should have been further on the list or not on it at all

Its retarded to try and classify the best videogames of all time as its purely subjective. I' m not even going to look at the list.
