The Power Glove, the oldschool motion controller - Feb 07, 2007 16:12
Hey, I haven' t been on the forums for that long, so maybe you talked about the Power Glove way back when the Wii was announced, but I figured I would make a new thread about it anyways.

I never owned one, but my cousin had it when I was a kid, and I always thought it would be the coolest thing ever. I mean it was a motion sensing glove! That kind of stuff just incites wild fantasies of video gaming greatness as a child. Sad to say, it never quite stacked up. Bastard young kids and their new fangled wii-motes that actually work !

Also, have any of you seen the wizard? When I saw that when I was a kid, the guy using the power glove on the arcade machine seemed so badass.

and don' t forget the original Nintendo advertisement -

Sweet, I just found the part of the Wizard where they use the glove - the quote at the end almost made me bust a gut laughing -

Here is a link that made me laugh my ass off. As a warning, he does swear, so shoo the kids away before watching this.

edit to fix links

100 hits and no replys. I would ask the question if am I too old? But I' m only 21. Someone else must have some memory' s of this plastic gauntlet of shattered dreams and lost money.

I remember the print ads quite well, which featured a half-smirking prepubescent boy wearing Ray-bans and the Power Glove. It was an image of coolness which I continue to try and live up to.

My cousin had a power glove. He tried using it in everything and it never worked as well as the controller did. The only game it was better at was a retarded gladiator game that he never played

I actually saw a picture of someone who modded a powerglove to fit a wiimote. That looked pretty awesome. Unwieldy, but awesome.

I' ll try to find it.

The powerglove is what you get when Mega Man kills NES man.

It' s so bad... ... ... that it' s actually good, like Adam West' s Batman.

I' m afraid I must agree. Even though Adam West didn' t suit the role of batman, that show had something that made it good, even though it was so bad. He was hilarious in the Simpsons and Family Guy as well. Heck even his infomercial appearances make me laugh.

Here he is in all his glory/

Ah, here we are.

And for those of you who are thinking it took me a while to find that and post it, uhhm...shut up! I didn' t forget! I didn' t find this thread again after three days and go, " Oh, snap! I never got around to actually finding that thing and posting it!"

Because I never go, " Oh, snap!"

Never.

Also, Adam West is one of the most talented actors ever. Remember that Johnny Bravo episode that had him in it? He was attacked by ninjas every time he left his house, and his muscles were so massive they ripped his shirt to shreds just because he pointed at something. HE is the reason I watch Family Guy. Screw Stewie, Peter, and Quagmire, Adam' s were it' s at.

Whatever " it" is. I don' t know.

Shut up!

Man, I love the Angry Nintendo Nerd. You should' ve seen is poor attempt at Top Gun without the Power Glove.

Anywhooo, I used to think the Power Glove actually looked pretty cool...
