Got an email at work today that I' ll be getting a raise. An $18,000 dollar a year raise!!! And this is just out of the blue, never had a clue it was coming! I' d been discussing with my wife when I' d be able to affor a wii, looks like november 19th is the answer! Other good news, I' m going to be a dad for the second time, and that will pretty much have the opposite effect on my videogaming time, but such is life.

I read somewhere that on average a child in the US costs the parents 200 000$ from birth to adulthood. We can' t win in this world...but congradulations none the less.

Thankyou all, I could hardly believe it myself (both bits of news). Anyone else here getting a wii on launch day? And as to the 200 000 for a kid, that' s a little over the top I think. But of course that may be includig college, and in the states University is much more expensive than it is up here in canada. It' s funded a lot by the govt, so our tuition is only arround 5000 a year for undergrad stuff compared to some of the ludicrous 20-30000 at some american Universitites. But I guess that' s why I pay so much damn taxes.
