Sony is going to be discontinuing the 60GB PS3 and boldly pushing forward with their lame 80GIG+Motorstorm combo, leaving normal gamers in the dust... again.

This was stupid. Stupid, stupid stupid. All the positive hype they had going from E3 went right down the crapper.

Yeah, PS3 costs around 900 dollars here... More money for less. But that goes for all consoles and most electronics of course. And STILL people go all crazy around launch. No wonder companies continue to rip off us if people accept it.

The biggest part of the year in Sweden usually. And then a couple of months in northern Belgium. The price over there is around 830-870 dollar I' ve seen. So not too cheap either...

Hehe, well. Actually it' s the other way round :P I was born in Belgium but moved to Sweden some years ago because of someone ;) I do speak Swedish as fluent as Dutch though. I only travel back and forth to visit some people or record some music etc. And yes, I' ve noticed that there are quite a few Swedes on here.

I personally don' t think they are gonna jack the price back up after the 60gigs run out. I think they are just covering their tracks. They want to make it look like you should buy a 60 gig now before they run out so you don' t have to buy an 80gig for more, or the opposite, they don' t want people waiting till 60gigs run out and then buying the 80gig for $500.

You can' t tell people when price cuts are coming or when a new model is coming out for the same price. It' s this way with almost every product, and definitely with all electronics. It' s just bad business sense.

People can rationalize having spent a bit more money on a console after the price drops(mostly because they are forced to, and humans are good at making themselves think they didn' t get screwed) but they can' t rationalize paying more for a console when they know a cut is coming in a month or two.

God, why do they keep doing this!? It makes no f***ing sense! They' re making it harder and harder for people that aren' t part of the Super-rich to play their games. The only explanation I can think of is that the Iluminatti no longer needs Sony around and ordered them to self destruct.

On second thought, I also blame legalized marijuana, it' s the Demon Weed dont' cha know.
