Bad Company Beta with Impressions! - Mar 21, 2008 18:24
So the beta finally started and iv given it about an hour of life as of yet.

The game loads nicely, though loading the first level did seem like it took awhile.

Graphically its pretty nice considering the areas its spanning but COD4 is certainly more visually stunning, the framerate seems to be suffering some, i nearly got a headache chugging through combat
. Blowing up walls and stuff is a nice addition and it feels great, and looks cool too, though most houses seem to be totally empty of furniture.

The controls feel chuggish and slow when compared to COD4. Slow turning is annoying. though aiming down a sight was easier than in COD. The hit detection seemed off though.

Sometimes the other players could take enormous amounts of punishments, and sometimes they just die, the same is true for me ofcourse.

Some will find vehicles a welcome addition to the gameplay, iv always been a grunt so i take it on foot, which isnt that fun when a tank spots me.

Friends and enemies are always visible on the HUD which is quite annoying since you cant really sneak around.

Unless this game has a really great single player campaign, its not bound to get my money.

Though it really should be added iv never been a big BF fan, with the exception of 1942 in my LAN days.
