What is the difference between silver (free) and gold (paid) membership?
i bought a 12 month gold membership the other day but it got me wondering what features of live do silver members NOT recieve?"
Is it worth buying gold at all?

Silver users receive a 2x4 in the face twice a month. After the first month, mandatory correctional surgery is provided at the silver user' s expense.

Why would you bother with Silver? You cant play your games online and most of the stuff in the marketplace is gold members only. If I' m not mistaken, the only thing silver offers is you can create an account, get a friends list, chat/text, and download some stuff from the marketplace.

You can' t even send messages via Xbox.com on silver, which is irritating if something goes haywire with your box right before your subscription runs out.
