New fist of the north star fighting game - Dec 30, 2005 16:04
This only applys to those who are into fighting games.

Anyway they' ve finally made a good fighting game out of this series. I' ve dreamt about this for years now it' s come true! There is a good site with some videos of the game, but best to look at the WMV videos because these have clear sound and better quality...slightly

This is for the Fist ofthe north star fans!!!

Hey, have anyone played the arcade game " fighting mania" (or whatever it was called)? The design and attacks are similar to those in Fist of the north star. But how you play the game is incredible. Incredibly fun that is. You see animations on the screen but you play the game by hitting pads coming at you from the sides of the screen (three on each side placed vertically over one and other). There are other games like this but " fighting mania" (or whatever it was called) is sooo cool and fun I doubt you' ll find anything better. You get a great work out to, especially when you have to punch the pads 60 times withing the time limit.

...where can i buy it?....

...actually, aeons ago, i remember seeing a 4x4 hexagonal light sensing thing which you hooked up to games like Streets of Rage. It required you to physically perform the kicks and punches, which were transferred to your on screen character....

..can' t remember what it was called but it looked real fun...

Well, since it' s a arcade machine it costs quite a lot of money. I remember seeing it for sale on some website. I think it was sold for about 500$ or something but I' m not sure.
Light sensing is OK. I' ve played an arcade game where you hold a sword and slash your enemies but it' s not as fun as hitting pads. The pads gives you the feeling of actually hitting something (or someone ). The pads where pretty heavy on the machine I played. You where supposed to play with gloves but I played without cause someone had stolen the gloves. I got these really cool bruices and scratches all over my hands .

...you need to condition your hands more....

...try doing push-ups on your fists instead of fingers....

Well I do my friend. I do exercises similar to makiwara practise to. My knuckles are as hard as concrete and they could punch trough materials even harder. Well the last might not be true but let' s just say my hands are durable. It' s my skin that' s a little sensitive. I use lotions to keep them from drying but it doesn' t work.
Ever tried making push-ups on just three finger-tips on each hand? That' s hard. Try two, that' s even harder .
