Silent Hill 5 Gameplay Footage - Jul 03, 2008 16:57
As much as I love Silent Hill, this game looks really bad...

What the hell have these guys been doing all this time? This looks like a first generation 360 title at best. The story and game mechanics better be damn good. I wonder if Akira Yamaoka has even seen any of this, I am sure he would regret his decision of passing this on to the Collective . The combat seems to have been improved, but whoever is playing certainly sucks at making an impression anyway.

Even though is Beta, the Collective track record is nothing to be astonished by (if anything, survival-horror lovers should be terrified)

I like the way they' ve kept the quiet spooky nature of the town. Reminds me of Silent Hill 1, not just because of the graphics!

But I reckon one of their briefs was to keep it familiar with the film, and this does seem more like an interactive film than a game - seems theres more going on in the cutscenes than during gameplay.

The one monster we' ve seen is nice, but nowhere near as wierd as enemies gone by.

And I reckon thats what this is lacking most, is that wierdness/surrealness factor. This feels too familiar.
